Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

Thanks Kim, we appreciate that! At the very least, the previous work done may have protected/preserved the truck enough to make it into our hands.

Got in some Crow lap belts today (ordered on Mon). We went with Crow because they offered a grey 2" lap belt and had an option for black anodized hardware that we thought would flow well.

Sweet build. Started lookin at it when it first started a few years ago but it's come a long way! That cowl you built is sick! Keep up the great build and fab work. It'll all come together in the end if you keep your eye on the prize.

Thanks DW!

Yea, we're anxious to start putting this back together but realize that it always seems to take longer and cost more than we could ever plan on...soooo we just keep keeping on!

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

Not much to add, been ordering some parts here and there...bunch of little stuff. We spent some time this weekend reworking the rear of the bed and added LED brake lights, reverse lights, and rear facing rack lights.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

Made it through the holidays and starting to work on the truck again. Had to make a few changes to our jeep and liberated some shocks that we repurposed for the 58.
We had to make some new upper mounts to accommodate the slightly longer shocks, but other than that they fell into place.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

Not much, but felt like we needed some recovery points up front. We sourced some d-rings and mounts locally and welded them into the bumper.

For Christmas, my son got me some halo style lights and then kits to convert them to HID...gonna take a little trimming and fitting, but should be just stupid bright!

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

Great welds, grade 8 bolts...bumper and tow hook supports aren't going to be pulled off.
Can you provide any details on the HID package / kit? The lights are going to be bright!

Bet it has been awhile since you used the pool table...

You know it AD! The plan is for the bumper to stay attached to the truck!!
I'll get back with details on the HID kits later today, and yea, the pool table hasn't been used for a few months.
