I had to put 100lb pulls on mine with a 2" lever attached to the latch to get mine to open.

Cajun-

My doors are tight. I physically have to push them in slightly before trying the unlatch them. I know that won't work when I am relying on the solenoids.

We shall see.

Greg-

I might have to give that a try. But without the use of glue, how will I be able to make a mess of things?? I wish I had seen this prior to glueing my seals on. I did get them from Steele, but I think they where the factor seals where yours look to be more universal.

Thanks for the info.

Is it safe to assume that 10ft was enough?
Thanks again for the info.

So you used this seal you mentioned earlier on your doors in place of the Steele original replacements and like them? Good to know, since I'm getting closer to having to figure this out on mine....

Re: mylow53 build

so far there the only ones that allow me to close my door. my truck has had drivers side door issues for as long as i've owned it. i would try the oem first but if it won't close you might try this... i have oem on the passenger door and it closes fine.

Greg-

Your the man. Thanks for the pictures. I noticed in the last picture, you are not using any weather stripping on the bottom. Did you remove this in order to fix your drive door that was not closing?

Thanks

Look a little deeper in the catalog for the proper weather strip for the doors on the AD truck. He has the right ones for our trucks and they work great

I used the ones from Steele that are made for AD trucks and they are too tight. This is the same issue Greg had, so he came up with these universal ones from Steele. I will be giving them a try.

Re: mylow53 build

ok i said i would drive this truck didn't I? well i took it to work yesterday cause i haven't driven it for weeks due to the rain. got to work ok but i had to work real late. so i'm driving it home taking la brea in la. and i blew an air bag. dropped the left front on the ground. thankfully it didn't hit the frame! called aaa and asked for a flat bed. by then it was midnight, Not the best place to hang out... the tow truck driver arrived and was happy to drive me to thousand oaks provided i pay him in cash $315.00!!! and no they dont take credit cards. so after a trip to a getto atm he had his money and we were on the way home.

Wow, that is a fear of mine as well. I guess, I really need to add back my rubber snubbers before I make mine road worthy.

I am glad that nothing worse happened to you or the truck....

Re: mylow53 build

Hey bud truck looks awesome.. Got a quick question what backspacing are you using on the front? Been following your build for awhile and I got alot of ideas from looking at yours, our front ends are the same mustangII I got 15x7 and going with the gangster white wall instead of mags..

You do drive it. 5,000 miles since you completed it. How many months did it take you to rack up 5,000 miles.
