Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I have no idea what year but it was later 50's early 60's I would think. It was picked clean except the cab. It was a big 1 ton style. The guy at the desk told me it was an international.

Here is what the fog lights would look like if I choose to add them. I also ordered new glass lenses for them. They look nice.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I made a change on the column levers. I moved the cruise control button to the end of the tilt lever. I tried to move it to the signal but not sure if that's possable. I did this so I can use the spot on the gear selection lever to turn on and off the gear vendors Overdrive unit I'm going to purchase for this truck.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Purchased some original repo spring ring battery cables for the truck. Also found these Nos cable covers for them. Never seen these covers before. I also bought a new battery that appears like the original. Not much else is going to happen on the truck for a while. Time for a break.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Here are the 2 switches I'm using on the right side of my cluster. The bottom one is a pull switch for my fog lights and the top is a 2 pole left right switch that will turn my gear vendors from automatically shifting to manual gear splitting . When turned to manual you will use the button on the shift lever to go in and out of the gears. I an having the placards for the fog and o/d made on a cnc machine and adding them to my choke delete cluster so they will look like the wipers and lights on the left side.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I really wanted power door locks to work like they should and I fought with this for a long time. This week I decided I wanted a different style door catch. I got these out of a 66 gm 2 door car. They work nice. They have the optional vacuum operated power door locks which I will add to my truck as well. I will like this much better that my locks won't pop up every time I close my door. Switches match the window style too!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I added the light at the bottom of the door as well. Needs More work but it will work just as intended and add as more water drainage. This light will light up the lock cylinder as well.

I got some decals back today I had a local shop make for me. I had a GM decal made for the front of the thermometer face. Now I have GMC and GM to choose from. I also had one made for my 67 th400 transmission ID tag.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Transmission is all rebuilt and ready to go. Not sure if I am going to paint it or just leave it as is. I will paint all the metal parts and the pan black and put all the plated bolts on it. The more I read about people having vibrations with shorter drive shafts I am not 100% sure I'm going to go gear vendors.

Not my 67 but I thought I'd share my latest acquisition. 2001 chevy 2500hd 8.1l and Allison transmission loaded. I drove this home 700 kilometers and I absolutely love it. Can't wait to tow with it!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Had some work done to my firewall. This time it won't be full of body filler. I had the the area around the dimmer switch recesses further down so the auto dimming headlight harness can sit low under the rug and I had an area recessed for the radio foot controller and its harness so it looks like it was there stock. I also had a harness connector added above the speedometer hole to make clean work of Connecting the added accessories I am using. Last one is my thermometer with the gm decal on it.

Got these 2 pieces today from a 57 cadillac. Going to see how I can get the fog light circles into the truck bumper.

No. Only one on each side. 57 cadillac had 2 fog lights and 2 signal lights. I am only using the fog.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I had these parts removed from a 1967 Buick 400 transmission and I am going to add the. To my th400. These are the pieces required to allow your th400 to change the stall speed of your converter with 12 volts. Gm used this in 65 to 67 Buick old and cadillac 400 transmissions and can be adapted to chevy 400s with 8 bolt cases. It's pretty neat. I got my gear vendor unit as well so I can finish the transmission now.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I got member tbone1964 to calibrate my 4k cable driven tach into a 5k tach and added a tach drive distributer to my engine. Wow did tbone1964 do an amazing job. SUPER HAPPY. With the ti ignition from the 60s I wanted my tach to be somewhat accurate and I don't believe that ti ever used an electric tach on Camaros it came in.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I have been playing around with swaping my Vacuum gauge for a transmission oil temperature gauge. I got this oil temp gauge from a 1980 corvette and I took an extra gauge face I had and painted how I would like it to look. With the switch pitch converter I've been told the transmission will make more heat. Nothing to be worried about but I would rather this gauge than a vacuum gauge I think. Would be more beneficial if I ever tow. I would put the words "TRANS" on the lens.
