Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
We had over 140 cars and trucks at the show. Very good turnout.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
Thanks guys. We had a big time. Just had 3 of our trucks there. Had more 55-57 and 67-72 trucks. But there was a big variety of cars and trucks. Got to see some folks I have not seen in a while and meet some new people. I normally would not show my truck. I just like driving it to the shows and looking. Thanks for checking in.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
Well the fun is over and it's back to work on it. I am in the process of making the hood straight. I am not real fond of body work but it has to be done.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
Well if I was striving for perfection I don't think I would ever get done.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
So is the bed still in waiting mode due to the fun involved there???
I started on mine, then decided to do the hood, then get back to the bed... Hood's done so I guess the bed is next...

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
Yea the bed sides are ready for final blocking and wet sanding. I am saving the bed for last. I am trying to get the hood done and mounted by September 14. That is when I am taking it to get the interior. The interior is getting a console built, carpet, and one seat repaired.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
dwcardfan,
Thanks for taking the time to share. This site is a wealth of info due to the generosity of folks like you. It is even more motivating for me seeing someone in my own backyard with such a great build going on. I hope to begin mine in the spring and no doubt will reference yours often. Thanks and great job. |

I went to the shop this evening when I got off work and sprayed the primer on the hood.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy
Still have a few small dents to repair but overall the hood is fairly straight. Hopefully I can sand and repair the rest of it Saturday.
