Re: My 1959 apache project
I had to hang front bed panel from the garage door in order to spray both sides so with it moving its hard to get the clear to lay really smooth.

Re: My 1959 apache project
Looks great to me!
Mine has a rust-through spot in the front bed roll I need to cut out but I'm a little concerned that somewhere else in the length of it there's another ALMOST ready to come through and there's really no way to reach it to blast it. I'm thinking of just pouring Rust Bullet through it as a way to stop anything that's in there. By the way, when you spray like that how do you keep from getting overspray on your garage floor/driveway? Just wet it down, drop cloth, or what? Do you spray with a conventional automotive gun or an HVLP one?

Re: My 1959 apache project
Yeah id be scared to blast it because it will go thru in more then one spot, this is a repop panel my original one was all mangled stretched out.
I usually wet the garage floor but it does get over spray price to pay lol

Re: My 1959 apache project
I primed it (rattle can) then hit it with some flat green that actually is pretty much the same shade that nos exterior sunvisors had underneath just happens to match the insert of the future seat. Im done for today good progress!

My front panel is original and flawless except for one small dent AND of course the 3/8"-1/2" rust through spot I mentioned. Kinda hate to replace it when it's original and that nice but also wouldn't want rust through coming back after paint. Your interior is going to be killer beautiful. What color/brand is that rattle can?

Re: My 1959 apache project
Thanks!! Wow worth fixing buddy! Because my repop panel sucks! Had to redrill all holes to make it align decent.
Its rustoleum satin #7737 spruce green from Lowes

Re: My 1959 apache project
Schrum,
The Rusto is just on the little flashlight bracket, nothing else.

Re: My 1959 apache project
Thanks! Correct its only on the flashlight holder and its going under the visor to cut the glare like they used to do it back in the days.
