Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

some good lookin trucks on here......

I drove mine everyday in high school and applaud you youngsters that do the same........

I still drive mine to college sometimes, but I have a daily driver that saves me gas (witch gives me more money for the toys)

mines about to get a paintjob.... new tranny.... new exhaust (1 5/8 headers, 2 1/2" with x-pipe and hooker aerochambers to replace the 1 1/2 headers, 2 1/4 pipes and glasspacks that are on it now).... bigger carb.......

then I'm shooting for mid 13's in a 2+ ton beast....

I got mine when I was a Junior in HS, I'm a Junior in College now but don't drive it to school. Just a bit too far for 14 mpg. I would say that counts for this thread.

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

comp XE 268 hydraulic flat tappet
http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...x?csid=86&sb=2

its not that big.... it feels almost like the Comp XE262 did in my old 350
it runs real strong from 2500-5000rpm

I want to throw in a bigger (roller) cam, but I know my money is better spent on aluminum heads.... but first I need to get my transmission fixed and add a converter ......then I need a new exhaust.... then I'm gonna throw on a Holley Vacuum secondary 750 to replace the 600 I'm running now..... then heads... then cam (around 290 advertised duration roller is what I'm gonna do)

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

Just grad'd last year but I did get the chance to drive it for half of grade 11, and half of grade 12, just waiting to take it out again this spring for the 3rd year for university It's a classic and I love to see when young people like me drive classic vehicles. It's always a good feeling to get the thumbs up from other drivers when you drive downtown.

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

you are right, my son a first year at U of Guelph is hoping to drive mine. I gave him my 89 Buick and he loves that, wants to paint it flat black.

Love your yellow truck
Not as much as mine but close!

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

Well i just bought a 71 GMC 2500 today for my first vehicle. It's a solid old truck but it needs reassembled. The previous owner had started to redo it and then quit. Hopefully i can get it done and maybe drive it for part of my senior year. I'll try to get a few pics of the ol basket case sometime soon.

What school do you go to? I go to school in st.Louis too. I haven't been able to drive my 69 to school yet because it needs some tweaking.I have a 355 in mine, can't wait to drive it though.
