yes i am running a 2piece drive shaft , the rear shaft is a CPP shaft with a slip joint, a CPP billet carrier bearing raised 1 1/2 inches and a shortened front driveshaft

Mike, where did you get your spacer for your carrier bearing? Mine has a little vibration when I really stomp on it, and I think raising mine a little may help.

What did you think of your rear shaft from CPP? What did it cost?

very nice piece , dont know if i really need the slip joint or not but it made sense to me, because you are moving up and down, i think about 189 cost

it is the factory front one , just shortened, i would guess it is 2 inch

does the tubing size look the same front to rear? I'm pretty sure the cpp piece is 2".Mine has to be at least 2" to be strong enough for my setup.Fyi your rear suspension moves in an arc when it goes up & down hence the slip joint

How thick are the tops of the notches and how thick is the bump stop you showed that was under the arch? Is the bump stop still under the arch or did you change the location?

At full drop will the center section of the differential or the watts link hit the bed floor if it was all at one level?

Yes I know you moved the bed up, just seeing if structural mods to the frame will gain you anything as the top of the pumpkin may hit the floor anyway with the rails on the ground.

I have done rear rails with the arch on the bottom instead of the top in low slung back halved race cars is why I was curious. Its possible you could leave a section of the legs of the arch in place above the rails to anchor your air bags & cross braces to but have the main structural member of the frame below the axle tubes. Absolute pain in the butt to remove the housing but it could give you the clearance you need to keep it all below your relocated bed floor. You have to have room to pull the wheels off at full lift before the axle tube hits the frame rail too so it might take a bit or a reverse arch to do this in a 67-72 with round wheel wells.

You can see where it sits relative to the frame notch arch and take some measurements to see how high up the center section gets.

Hey Mike, I was just thinking... dangerous, I know.... The Relaxed Atmosphere Allstar Event show is coming up in a few weeks, on Labor Day Weekend. You planning on going? I know you wont have your truck there, but lots of bagged rides and an absolute blast, and some of the best built rides (magazine quality, not hack jobs) always show up. I'm taking the 67, just wanted to see if you were planning on going.

good news...sold the Dune Buggie , started working on the truck again last night put the rear disc brakes back on (should be the last time the rear end is completely powder coated and done, minus running the brake lines)NOW.... back to the "NIGHTMARE FRONT INNER FENDERS"
