Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Nada...with the temps below zero and a foot of snow on the ground, my "get up and go has got up and went". May the sun return soon and the snow melt away.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
well we installed 41-48 repo tail lights today , it was freezing , even in florida. I had a good helper today ,the youngest of my 3 sons! the fenders were off so I traced the stake pockets of the bed onto a big envelope, measuring off the lower hole and taped it to the fender , this let me center the tail light in the postion that I wanted with out installing the fender again. We used a 1-1/2" holesaw then cut between the holes , left a little adjusting room just incase the holes were off a little -I love the look !!!!!!! custom yet old school!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
OK , people are wanting to see how that hood tilts forward here is a pic. of part of the hinge notice how the flat stock runs across the back of the radiator support and ties the left and right together, the part that hooks to the hood is a " H " shape w/ angles on a 45% that ties the " H " structure together , ea leg of the " H" have a lug nut welded inside and a heim joint threaded into the lug nut - a 2"x2" angle was then bolted to the stock hood support , Now my stock hood supports were fiber glassed to the fiberglass hood -simple right? I'll post better pics. later when I can get to the hood Eric

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I crawled underneath my '63 just to see how rusty the flywheel is getting. My new clutch has been waiting for over six weeks to be installed. Between being sick for the entire month of December and the fact that here in NC we've had the worst cold snap in 33 years, I really haven't felt like doing much.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I took off my hideous side mirrors and replaced with a peep mirror. Put a new chrome dome light and lens in. Attempted to replace my turn signal switch with no luck of getting the steering wheel off....and chipped it too! suxs! will try again tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Today I made my lower bag plates and got them set up on my axle. I set my pinion at 3 degrees. I set a tool in the mill to cut the radius on my upright pieces and they fit great. I took some 5 1/2 stock and machined it down to 5 1/4 for my plates and got them welded up and tacked onto the axle.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
he's a self proclaimed " chevy guy" and this is his first ford. i found it for him this time last year for $200. i also supplied and built the 311 cid motor for it. it was the only way i could keep him off my a$$ about working on my truck at the shop. i figured if i got him something to work on he wouldnt bother me; it worked.

Today I pulled the long bed off my truck got it loaded on a trailer to sell tomorrow. Sorry to see it go and for so cheap but I had no where to put it and needed to make way for my short step bed and tube back half.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Hey Scoti how do you quote like that with my pic? And my first suggestion would be to find a big back window cab! Just a lot of metal work on the inside, not that hard just very time consuming. Should have tried to find a junk cab to get the inner panel from. I will try and find the pics of the inside.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I went and picked up my cab after having new floor sheet metal installed. There is still some body work to be done before it is ready for paint. We went ahead and set the cab on my frame. It has been eight years since I took it apart and I have almost forgot what it looks like with a cab. It was too late to get any pictures last night but will try to get some this weekend.

My plan was to get an 'inner' cab skin from the upper seam down to the area where it 'rolls' under adjacent the gas tank & to the doors each side. I figured splicing it together .250" below the OE upper seam to keep things from warping when welding it up. Since there are multiple ways of doing the job, I like to see if someone has done something different that allows for a 'better' (easier, more consistent) finished task.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
if you removed the entire rear panel like i did you can take off the inner from the spot welds. more work but looks factory. I drilled all the welds at the door and rear and the window. then removed the whole panel. you can see from my what it looks like when you removed the back.
