Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well started on my 454 last night and tore it all down. Today did some cleanup on heads, port matched intake gaskets to 781 oval port heads and did some mild porting, also started on port matching Edelbrock RPM intake and mild porting also, here are a few pic's will post more as I go. Mudman.

Well back to work, more cleaning then start painting block and parts.

Must have been ignited by one electrical wire or another. That wouldn't have been any big loss. I knew how to starve it of air though and had lots of good parts perfectly usable for another project.

Well, the day's just beginning...I may fall asleep in my truck somewhere or I may put some of the parts I've had lying around here for months, on it, or even go to the junkyard for more valuables that I can either sell or keep.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Finished up recovering my door panels and then installed them. I started this project about year ago and it was a bit of a pain putting them back in, but its finally done.

Thumbs down Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I damn near cried ~

Yesterday I drove to get a haircut and the building owner ran the corner stop sign and banged the back bumper & fender in.....

Lucky for me I had my ipod thing-A-ma-jig as I'd been taking pix of my new Grand Daughter , I snapped pix of him , his truck , my truck etc. ~ he gave me a copy of his license and says he'll pay , we'll see .

I'm bummed out .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Made the 100 mile trip to the body shop with the suburban packed with finishing parts. Checked out the progress on the 67. Guys were color sanding the front fender. One of the body shop guys dropped my newly upholstered door panel and ripped the fabric about two inches. Looking good but still a long way to go. Looking at June or so before it's done.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

beat on the lower area of the bedside... looked like someone ran over a big log and dented the heck out of them on both sides... the panhard bar also has about a 20* bend in it... I have an adjustable one coming from ece. Anyway the bedsides look a lot better now, could still use some finessing before new paint, but definitely look better.

Over the weekend I got my HEI distributor and new wires installed... all the plugs looked awesome when I pulled them out, cleaned them, gaped them and put them back in... engine sounds great now... also got one of the motor mounts replaced... the bad one. still need to replace the other... but I plan to pull the motor and swap the heads... trying to decide if I want to put in a different cam, lifters, springs when I do. I have some minor leaks so will be replacing gaskets anyway.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Today I pulled the cowl panel and moved the rightfront fender away from the door after the PO put the truck in a ditch. The same PO also put the replacement bed on crooked, so the wife and I straightened that out. Then we put the rear bumper back on. Next is adjusting the trans and pulling a few leafs to lower the rear.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got all the holes drilled and got my EXO mount for the Accuair bolted to the frame. Ran all the power wire and mounted the solenoid inside the frame rail. Ran the USB cable into the cab for the controller and also the ignition feed wire up into the dash. Tomorrow I just need to connect a couple ground wires and solder on one copper ring terminal onto the 4 awg power wire at the solenoid and then I can power the system up. I would have finished it today, but I ran out of gas for my soldering torch and couldnt connect the power cable securely. No bags installed yet, but hopefully I can get started on that next week sometime.

Thanks, I appreciate it, but I ordered an adjustable. I plan to lower at some point so I figured I would kill 2 with 1.

The PO put 5 lug shafts in but left the 6 lug in the front. I plan to put the 6 lug shafts back in shortly (I have them! and the rims) and then measure for blocks to get her level. then down the road I plan to do drop spindles and disks in the front and springs in the back. At the end of the day it will be a 2.5/4 or 5 drop...

Sense this is a what did you do thread, I also degreased my engine compartment, painter my air cleaner with some paint I had sitting around and Power washed as much of the frame I could get to without getting wet while laying on the ground... seems to have made a difference....

I am definitely "that guy" in the classy as small town colorado can get neighborhood here. in the warm snowless months, my wifes jeep is outside, my F250 DD the yellow 72 K20 is a driveway monument, my M715 lives next to the house and my trailer is in front of the 715. everything is parked on legit parking surface, and i keep the yard well kept. but no one every has a problem finding my house.

I had it power tuned last week so I took it out today - first day this year over 70 degrees and sunny. Drove it like hell! It sounded and ran so nice!
