Per most people it's plumbed before the radiator so in the winter it heats up a little before going into the transmission.
These are readings straight off the ECU through the scan gauge 2 monitor not mechanical gauges. I have the trans cooler in between the condenser and radiator. I've never seen it more than 200 and that was last spring on a trip to the mountains. It always cooled right back down after pulling a long grade. Normally it's in the 165-185 temp range. Depending on how hot it is outside.
