Re: honest opinions needed

I'd run those Daisys before I ever run rallye wheels... any day of the week. If you have the money, buy some wheels. Don't just settle for rallyes because they look "acceptable." Rallye wheels would probably be the last wheel I ever run. As a matter of fact, if I were gonna buy new rims, I'd buy five so that way I made absolutely sure that I would never have to run a rallye wheel as a spare!

Daisys. No brainer. If it were me, I'd get the centers sandblasted or stripped, and run them as cast. Those look sweet, and they look like they're the right size too.

Re: honest opinions needed

I would jump on those daisy's. that is the style of wheel I am going to run when I finally decide to Ditch the pos chrome ones i have now. Chrome might work in TX and thew south west but it just gets rusty up here. I love the look of the Daisy because it reminds me of stuff I would see on vintage hot rods. I can't stand anything bigger then a 17 which I guess puts me against the crowd right now...................

the centerlines look like they belong on an S-10 IMO. Not a bad wheel just not right for the truck.

Ken, you know me too well. Did you get my last PM regarding your truck?

For the record, wagon wheels are my absolute least favorite wheel on the market...I can't wait to lose them. I like Rally wheels, but they are all over the place...kind of like TT2's and Coys. I would only run them for the cost factor if I did.

EDIT: I also found these on CL, 2 15x8 and 2 15x10. These are alum American Racing Daisy wheels...5 on 5. Obviously the centers were painted, but these look neat too...but perhaps dated as well.
I actually like this option the best of all so far. You don't see these wheels very often. Clean them up, paint the centers black, put on a cheap set of tires, and BAM! They haven't been done to death, at least not around here, and would be "period correct", plus they just look way too cool in my opinion. I like 'em! ...Joe

Re: honest opinions needed

Oh, and Jeff, you might want to check out a website that has closeout tires on sale quite often called tirerack.com. I bought a new set of tires from them for my wife's Durango last year for less than $400. Just a suggestion, and worth looking into if you can find the sizes that you want. ...Joe

That's right. I had nothing better to do on a Friday night. I like the daisies too.

I would call this terracotta maybe.

Re: honest opinions needed

I got the specs on the Daisy wheels from the seller.

Fronts are 15x8.5 with 4" backspacing
Rears are 15x10 with 3 3/4" backspacing

I am a little concerned, and fairy certain, the rear backspacing wont work for my truck. I attached a pic of Yeller with the Weld 15x10 Prostars with 5.5" backspacing...and as you can see, they barely fit in the wheel well. Having only 3 3/4" backspacing will only push them (the Daisys) out further.

Anyone else have 10" wide rear wheels, and what is your backspacing. Pics would be nice too if you can.

Re: honest opinions needed

My 10" wheels are 4.5" of bs. That evens the trackwidth with the front. I think that is about the limit. I wouldn't try any thing less. When I do finally get it lower, I don't think I will have to roll a fender lip or anything with 275s, but if I put the Hoosier 12.5 on there like I should, I think they'll have to be rolled or trimmed just a tad. I'm not sure I would take the guys word for it though. The daisies don't look that deep dish.

Re: honest opinions needed

Ok, I just relooked at those daisies, and looked at them alot last night. I used the pics you posted to do the photoshopping. I'm almost positive that the guy measured them wrong and doesn't really know what bs really is or how to measure it. I bet he measured from the front. There is just no way--they aren't that deep dish. I think they will work perfectly. I don't know how close the seller is too you, but maybe you ought to bring a tape measure and check them out yourself.

Yeah take a cruise over there and try it on for size. For $200? definitely worth the try as long as he isn't three hours away.

Re: honest opinions needed

He is located 60 miles north of where I live. I am going to pick them up Sunday evening. I am also picking up a set of clean plain steel wheels as well from another fella...so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Re: honest opinions needed

Welp, it looks like I wasted my time and gas...the backspacing is off for my liking (and the guy did measre correctly). Right now, the rim alone is about flush with the fender lip. Add a tire, and they will stick out...no good. Pics for reference.

SO, anyone need a set of vintage AR Daisy wheels? I will sell the for what I paid...$200.
