Twisted I went back an looked at your post on the "not so budget 3 link" post. I understand now what you mean by spacers on the rod end. I had my rod end mounted the first time with the bolt going vertical like you did in your pictures. But it was binding. So now I understand why......

What material do you use for the rod end spacers?

That would definitely work.

QA1 is a good rod end. I am just saying you should use some misalignment spacers to allow it to move a bit more without binding. A 3/4" rod end can only move about 7 degrees in each direction before it binds. With misalignments you can bump that up to over 30 degrees. I would probably run a 7/8" rod end on a fullsize, with misalignments to step it down to a 9/16" or 5/8" bolt. Just because that one joint sees twice the load it would in a traditional 4-link setup.

I checked S'Doors and could not find the misalingment spacers. Any suggestion on where I can purchase them...

Or do you have a 7/8" Rod end with misalignment spacers at your shop? I will purchase from you.....

Suicide Doors does not sell rod ends or misalignment spacers.

I have both rod ends/misalignments as well as pivot joints (rebuildable/cheaper) with threaded studs at the shop.

Twisted I went to my local Summit Racing and found this bad boy on the return rack for $25.00.

1 1/4 QA1...... SCORE.....!!!

Should be plenty strong when I redo the wishbone for my 502 BIG BLOCK......

Probably overkill. But now you are going to need some misalignment spacers and a tube adapter/jam nut.

Over kill yes. But it will look much better with 2.5" DOM tubing on the wishbone. And for the price I could not go wrong....

I am going to have the wishbone tubes bent to the angle I need to have the left and right tubes come right up to the rod end.

Summit did not sell just the jam nuts or tube adapter separately. And did not carry misalignment spacers for that size. So I will go to a fastener store on Monday and pick up jam nut. And try and find the tube adapter and misalignment spacers online. I can always make my own tube adapter.

You should be able to find the high misalignment spacers and tube adapters at offroad parts vendors such as

Although the 1.250 is a little harder to find.

Ballistic has 1.25" spacers. You need to determine wether it is actually a 1.25" ball though. It is pretty common to get 1.25" stud with a 1" ball.

Had to weld a few vertical up welds tonight on my front cross member. I was actually leaning so far over that my head was upside down. So was I really welding down hill......???

Pulled the truck out of the garage today. I still need to install my rear shocks, some additional gussets and welding. But I am getting very close to completion of the rear setup....

Thanks Seth (Twisted). Some of my ideas came from looking at your builds. But I just put my "iron worker" touch on it..!!!!

The new wishbone is a lot more rigid than the previous one. I can't wait to get the rear shocks mounted up so I can actually go for a real ride.
