Gee, the people on the order desk gave me shipping dates, too. They just were wrong. UPS picked up the wrong stuff Wednesday night. We'll see when my belt shows up.

Noah told me he is the customer service guy. Should be called the excuse man because thats all I heard from him. Provided no service that I recognized. As a matter of fact I doubt if that bunch knows what service is. My indicator should be here tomorrow and just hope that they shipped the right one. Because I don't ever want to have anything to do with them again!

NOt yet, but he ordered the pick up on Friday, and UPS picked it up on Wednesday. My guess is it couldn't get here for another week.

Well, the big brown truck came last night, with the same wrong belt, but the right emblems. Called Noah today, he is having the wrong belt picked up again, and swears he will send the right one this time. Updates to follow.

Got more stuff at the Portland swap meet from them, first time I've dealt with them in person. Have always been satisfied with the products I've purchased, but they were fairly rude in person. I waited till they came up to get some oversized stuff as to not have to pay extra shipping. Bumpers, grill trim, and dash pad were the big things. Happy with the quality, but I think I'll probably move along now after the "special treatment" I got at the swap meet. To many other nice people with reasonable prices around here to work with rude people.

On a side note...I stopped by THE TRUCK SHOP...Got a few things from Jerry Brown.

Similar attitude at all truck nationals too toward me in previous years. I pretty much stay clear and stop at Bill Atheys and GMCPauls (and others) where "customer service" means something. I think their business philosophy is geared towards volume sales and not repeat sales. FYI, I'm not talking about Jerry Browns outfit either.

These responses to the guys out at the meets seem to be one sided and all negative! What about the other side of the story? Some people seem to leave out the facts that some of us are rude to them in the beginning maybe cause we are having a bad day.

Welcome to the board! Do you think everyone with bad reports was having a bad day?
I spoke to Noah last Thursday AM, Friday UPS came to pick up the wrong part. Will keep you posted.

I was at carlisle last week and weekend. After reading this thread i remembered trying to be patient with a vendor there after he walked away while i was in mid sentance more than once. I just looked in my pocket and pulled out the card that the rude vendor gave me after asking for one twice and low and behold "car shop" "orange ca." I just threw it in the trash now and will never be ordering from them. Was hoping to see GMC paul there so i could personaly thank him for the wonderful customer service i was given this winter.

If it's worth loosing business, go ahead and keep being rude "in the beginning". Bad day or not, you only have one chance to make a good first impression. The customer doesn't know what kind of day you're having and could probably care less. All he wants is some parts, do you want money

I am new to the board so I need some clarification. Its ok to post a message like this, but you all are the people that jumped all over that kid last week for exposing one of your boys for doing something similar.

I havn't ordered anything from "one of the boys", but if you continue on through the post it seems that it all worked out for both of those parties, and a young man and a vendor apparently both learned a lesson in the process. I have written a couple times that I have had good luck over the phone with the truck shop, just seemed to have a rude guy at the swap meet. 2 of the 4 people with me told me a should not buy the parts from them by the way the guy was acting, but I thought maybe he was busy, having a bad day, etc. so got the parts. I like to give people the benifit of the doubt, because sometimes I'm not the greatest, happiest person either. Just seems like everyone has had the same experience with them. Also, most people are pretty good on this board about not getting personal and cutting people slack, while trying to provide good information and relaying the good and bad encounters they have had in their dealings with our AWESOME trucks. I hope that gives some clarification from a relative new comer to this board, you can probably get more details from one of the guys who have been around longer, just ask, they'll be happy to help !

You guys seem to think that I am involved but I am not I am just stating an opinion. Ive gone to some of the meets here in Ca and some of the people (customers) that I have seen at there booth (Truck Shop) come off as being cocky and rude to them (Truck Shop) before they can even be polite.

WOW! I don't know what to think, here. I have bought from them at several swap meets and they have always been courteous. They are also usually really busy. So far, I have had good luck with everything I bought from them, although some of the stuff is still unused so I can't rate it.
I did get a wrong suspension part from them a while back. I called, talked to Noah, they sold me the correct part (and charged me for it). I returned the incorrect part (at my expense) and they sent me a refund for the incorrect part. I guess I could be ticked because I paid for some extra freight, but I just don't have the energy to hassle about it. Overall I guess I am relatively happy with the result of my dealings with The Truck Shop. Apparenly I'm also lucky. Larry

Hers what happened to me with the Truck Shop in Orange Ca. Called the order line, told the girl what I wanted, no problem. Gave her my credit card #, everything ok. Told her I wanted it shipped to a different address then the billing address and thats when it went down hill. She said that they could not ship to a different address, so I told her to cancel the order. She said she would but couldnt cancel the credit card transaction. OK just give me a credit on the card. Well the dont give credits. They sent me a check for the amount of the charge. Waht a way to do business.I did get my money back but what a pain, wont call them anymore.
