Re: Good start to a project...
I figure this could use an update, as of today all I have left to do is bend fuel lines from the distribution block to the carbs and rebuild them. Progress has been slow while I clean and detail everything, and modify and problem solve aftermarket parts...shocker, right?

Re: Good start to a project...
I wanted to get a pic with the O'Brien Truckers air cleaners on, but I somehow managed to order the wrong size bases! The correct bases should be here next week.

Re: Good start to a project...
It's looking great Chris. I bet that sweet 6 and 5 spd will be fun. Are you going with a split manifold and dual Smittys exhaust by chance?
I remember back in the day guys would run dual Hollywood mufflers on their 6's. They gave a deep rumble. I bet your dad remembers those.

Re: Good start to a project...
Looks awesome Chris! You can't beat a modded inline and 5 speed. Very unique build.

Re: Good start to a project...
Man, I was not sure on your engine color choice,, but I think that looks so cool with all the accessories bolted on. Bold choice that works.

Re: Good start to a project...
Thank you, I was uncertain myself, but the small voice in the back of my head kept egging me on to paint it that color and I caved.

Re: Good start to a project...
I felt the same way until I saw the dressed engine. It's got a vintage look thats age appropriate. 50's Olds engines were gold.

Re: Good start to a project...
Wow Chris... This sure looks different than when I saw it a few months ago... It is looking good... I am going to be out there Thursday-Sunday... Maybe I can catch up with you... So you aren't going to run the Chrome wheels?... Looks good... I am doing a 5/6 drop on my truck... I am waiting on getting the Trailing arms an 6" springs from ECE and the Front Disc Conversion for the front... Do you have a need for a 4 wheel Drum Brake power booster?... I have the stock one off of my truck... Dan

Re: Good start to a project...
I was just at Chris' House... Guys you really need to see this truck... I is so cool... This 6 popper is awesome like a Diamond sitting in its case... The last 2 pics are them putting an original Chrome Cal Custom Fan on the truck...
Chris is a great guy and I enjoyed sitting and talking with him and Brent... I wish Brent would have had his truck there... |
