Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
thats not to bad actually... and on the install side,,, that kit looks pretty complete.... whould you say it was easy enough to install or were there some ruff spots. I thought of converting mine to air ride a couple times, im stil hesistating... i dont wanna loose any bed space with the tank and compressors, i really like the frame mount idea.

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
Then my only other guess would have to be Tonka orange... ???
Doesnt sound to hard put like that! and yeah really love the mounting place that was chosen... out of sight out of mind! Great for a sleeper look! Do them compressors make a whole lot of noise.. i imagine they dont go off all that much if you dont play around with it once the ride hight is set. Thaks for all the info man, its helping convince me to think about it more seriously. Id love to know how it handles in turns ans bumpy roads. Must be real smooth! |

That looks great! I love that color. It's very close to the orange I had on my sandrail (I named it Genralee )

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
I think I will have them powdercoated... Im not sure what color quite yet. Maybe like a flat black to match the interior, or maybe a wrinkle black?

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
OR I could "brush" them and put a clear coat over it and it would match the other metal going on the truck

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
Great Build!!!!! Did you make the one piece window kit yourself? or buy a Kit. The guys over at the 48-59 forum have a how to on it and I havent seen anyone from the 67-72 forum try it on thier truck. The Kits are pretty spendy and some dont seem to work very well.
I also didn't hear anything about what color your truck is. Tangelo? Last edited by Ipaintgrt; 01-01-2011 at 06:02 AM. |

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
I guess if I looked at the first post in this thread I would see that you call the color Light Creamsicle Orange. Not sure it thats the color or not?

Well that was the initial idea that I had, but I fell in love with this color when I saw it in person. alright Ill give in... Its Dupont Hot Hues Velocity Orange. It was originally made for Air Ride Technologies '69 Camaro.

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius
Thanks man! I really appreciate it all!!! Im really anxious to get the front clip back on so I can see what kind of rake it has all aired out... Im thinking the rear sits a little lower, but thats cool, because I want to put some tubular control arms on the front to bring it down a little more and clean up the look under the truck.
