JUST IN CASE YOU ALL WANTED TO KNOW THE OUTCOME.......

I went to court last Thursday the 1st.

The judge gives his scphiel, explains your rights (blah, blah, blah) and explains that if we give him a 'guilty' plea, that he will give you the 'smallest slap on the hand'.

I knew that, and that how they usually work it.

Anyway, to make a long story short....for doing that MASSIVE burnout in front of 5 cops....I recieved 2 yrs COURT PROBATION and a $200 fine.

I thought I made out OK. I could of asked for weekend work, but I really didn't have time for all that.

Never asked about my driving record though, I was just happy to get out of there so quickly and back to work.

Well,- At least you are done and can now move on. It is not hanging over you anymore. $200.00 does cut into your parts fund but not as bad as it could have been. What does it do to your insurance rates? And...... thanks for taking one for the team, we have all done it-----I have just not gotten caught!!

Re: Man...just got a 'Reckless Driving' in the Chief...

The Officers must have been FORD Enthusiast. That really sucks, but it would have really sucked if they would have towed the truck. What is this world coming to if you cant smoke the tires and show your Son how its done.

Re: Man...just got a 'Reckless Driving' in the Chief...

sorry to hear about the outcome Chief! but I guess it could have been a whole lot worse! Seems these days all they are trying to do is write tickets as a source of income for their department. Happened to my dad awhile back he was being taunted on the freeway in SC by a Camaro well he has the supercharged bonneville which is pretty quick so finally he had enough and guns it, as soon as he did the camaro flipped on the blue lights, the cop was baiting him into speeding, went to court but it was his word against my dad, guess who lost. So if you see a jerk in a tinted camaro let him go hahaha

Re: Man...just got a 'Reckless Driving' in the Chief...

I just hate the cops in general.Always lying and exaggerating. They can also be disrespectful and unprofessional.I guess it really depends what you get. Some Cops are nice and like Chevs, others are mean and drive fords.Thats the easiest way to put it.I remember when my dad told me how he almost got ran over by a cop because he wasn't wearing his bicycle helmet.Of course the cop lied and didn't want to take a lye detector test.He also told me how he got caught by the cops once and threw the ticket on the ground and got a BIG lecture from the cop.Honestly that cop must have been real nice because my dad could have got a huge fine.

Now ease up on the law. My father- in-law spent 32 years on the force. I have met some very nice guys who are in law enforcement. There are always exceptions. And some people are just jerks.

Re: Man...just got a 'Reckless Driving' in the Chief...

you should of asked for a 6 month continuance without a finding......if your record has been clean for the last few years sometimes they will go for it...what it means is if you are a good boy for 6 months they will chalk it up to you misbehaiving ONCE and they will forget about it...UNLESS you get another violation then your in for a double dip they will bring this back up and what ever you did this time..and you will pay large....

Gotta warning once doing a burnout in the Wal-Mart Parking lot.
Showing off to the ladies doing a car wash fund raiser thing.
There was a county deputy at the bank 200 yards away that didn't think that was cool!
Got a warning.
Told me my truck could of got loose and hurt some one.
Had my bed and hood off my truck at the time.
Ooooops!
Deputy left......
Then I was back talking to the ladies....

Re: Man...just got a 'Reckless Driving' in the Chief...

The first time I saw the video of the '03 Caddy, I was at the World of Wheels in Kansas City, MO two years ago. I saw a large gathering of people huddled around a TV and when the car cut loose the first time the entire group gasped, hooted and hollered, clapped and laughed histerically. I watched it several more times, just to see the crowd's reaction.

On another note, my youngest brother is a deputy sheriff in NoCal and after going on several ride-alongs with him, I have a renewed respect for what law enforcement officers go through in a normal day, doing routine traffic stops, let alone the unusual stops and calls.

It is unfortunate they weren't very understanding, especially since your son was with you. Maybe they will have mercy on you next time.
