Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em

Talking about little subs that hit hard, back about 10 years ago I had a set of 6" subs that were in specially designed boxes and they would hit as hard as a set of 10's I had. I can't remeber the name of them but they were designed like a bose would do it with the porting of the box. You wouldn't believe the look on peoples faces when they saw what was making that bass.

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em

The shallow mount pioneers will indeed fit uner the bench. I too have the bh t seat tank. I am in the process of making a box to go under the seat for my 12' shallows. Will post pics when its all done in a week or two.

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em

Here is what I have in my Renault Kangoo.
I havenīt got anything planned for my C10 yet but I will get something for it.

My car has to stay a Family car so I had to make everything removable.
I can get it all out in 5 Minutes.

Stereo: JVC + 12x CD Changer
Amp: JBL GTO 1201.1
Deep: Hifonics ZL12BP
High (4x) & Middle (4x): Sinus Live

Re: How about some pics of custom stereos

at least use a good quality "little sub" jl audio makes a 6 and 8 in the w3 line and a 8 in the w1 line. kenwood just released a 8 flat sub.

Re: How about some pics of custom stereos

i would like to see some pics of some guys that put some subs behind the seats or under the seats of their single cab trucks, thats the challenge anyone can make a nice box for a tahoe or a suburban. Speaker placement pics would also be nice.
PS acexyour set up is really sweet the only thing i wouldn't be able to live with is how far you have your seat up could there be a way to get away from that maybe making the back of the box where the speakers go out of fiberglass?

Re: How about some pics of custom stereos

I just finished my interior and stereo install. Dynamatted both sides of the doors and the floor. I made some boxes for under the driver and passenger side, recessed, so the seat springs can't hit them even under excursion. In the second sub pick you can see my prototype box, which sounds a bit better but you can feel the seat "stop" on the grill piece when you sit down. The amp sits under the seat on the raised tranny tunnel piece. It is a tight fit but under there, but it can work/fit. It sure does sound good for only spending around $650, and the butt vibrations are great!

On the new set-up? Yeah, but I would gain MAYBE a 1/2" of room. All I need to do is get a smaller steering wheel and life is good. It was a little wierd at first though.

Next project won't have that problem...

Re: How about some pics of custom stereos

I don't have pics of mine yet, but I'm running an Alpine head unit, Alpine 6x9's behind, Pioneer truck 6x9's w/tweeters under, and a Pioneer Premier Mid-Bass Driver behind. The premier was powered by a Sony 600W Xplod amp till I traded it for an Orion Cobalt cs150.2 that doesn't have the plugs. The guy said he's give me the plugs and then said he doesn't have them. Does anybody here have the plugs or wanna trade amps?

Re: How about some pics of custom stereos

was in my 81 lemans then moved to the 87 sub since 1997 but not yet put into the 85, (85 has stock 99 )since 87 is a writeoff.......made my own boxes for 2 crunch 10 inchers(in 1993 10inches @400 watts each was lots)wired amps radio etc to 1 switch, not key, kept subs on a seperate switch ,lets you talk listen to the radio loud and when a favorite part comes up "click" no more road noise!

Re: How about some pics of custom stereos

Here's my new setup. I traded my MIG Welder for these and and a competition Massive 12" in a Bandpass box with a RF 900W monoblock amp. These are just 12" Pioneer's in truck boxes being pushed by a JVC 300W 2ch. amp I also got in the trade.
