How about some pics of custom stereos
Not sure if this is the right area or not. I wanted to see custom stereo installs from all the different year trucks and figured this was the best place to post.
Please post Make/Model/Year/Stereo Specs Mine: Chevrolet/Silverado/1985 Pioneer DEH880-PRS Headunit MB Quart 5.25" Premium Components in the kick panels; MB Quart 6.5" Q-series components in the doors 10" Pioneer shallow mount subwoofers (2); ARC Audio FD4100 Amplifier hidden under bowtie (which is a removable panel) Still to come is an ARC Audio FD600.1 Amplifier and Kinetik Cap Killer battery. |

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
Damn that is very slick. Might have to look into those shallow mount woofers, how do they sound ?
I do like the sound of a hot small block for cruisin around town, but for those 3-4 hour trips...I need some tunes. |

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
Wow, that head unit really matches well in that dash. I too, was interested in those shallow mount Pioneers. Was gonna order one next week. What do you think of them, and how big is the box you have?

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
I like your thinking!
When I had my truck, I loved listening to the engine go...now I only have a silent V6 - so I need tunes. I'm using the stock stereo and an MP3 player with an FM transmitter...hardly worth posting pics of It does suit my purpose though as I don't have piles of CDs hanging around the car, and I can stash the MP3 player and transmitter while I'm at work.

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
Nice clean install, all the way around. Good quality equipment too.
I put tunes in my 89, but its all cheap stuff. Pioneer cd player, 2 10" subs & 2 sony amps with 4 infinity speakers. Its not much but its still better than "nuttin"... Last edited by corn; 10-10-2009 at 12:21 PM. |

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
Th shallow mount woofers will pound, there's no two ways about that. The bass isn't as tight as I'd like, but take that with a grain of salt because my last system (in my MR2) had two JL Audio 6w0's which are arguably some of the best woofers around.

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
I'm big into sound quality. If a system can pound my ears out also, that's a bonus. Thw 6w0's deliver some of the sharpest bass I have ever heard.

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
W0's sound ok for the price, but they are the lowest line of JL Audio product, (I'm not even sure they still make them) If you are big into Sq I suggest you look into ID Max for substage.

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
This has to be my favorite set up of all times with my car audio experience. With this set up I would hit about 132DB. This wasn't my hardest hitting set up, but the best sounding set up. This was all in a 1990 Honda Accord.

Re: Custom stereos, let's see 'em
Honestly, I can't say for sure.
They should fit under the seat without a problem, but I can't sat with 100% certainty. Best thing to do is take some measuremeants and post 'em up and then I can tell you for sure.
