The only thing I have to update at this point is I finally found the seat I wanted. It's a 1990 bench seat with the fold down arm rest. Got if off of ebay for $61.

I've been searching for one a couple of years now so I'm pretty happy to have one finally.

I attached a picture of what I got and what it could end up like. I will probably keep more of the original lines, just recover it with leather.

Got the engine, transmission, and accesories painted this weekend.

Hope it turns out okay. I tried to mimic the grey in the wheel centers to the engine. You cant really tell by the pictures but there is metal flake in the paint. Some Toyota color.

I also made a trip to Mena, AR Friday night to pick up the rest of the parts I was waiting on to be chromed.

Next weekend I'll get it put together and with any luck, possibly get it started up in the chassis.

Got the engine mocked up just to see what it would look like, still waiting on some odds and ends before putting it together for good. Had to at least see what it would like like.

The idea was to open the hood and look like a diamond sitting there. It might be too much but oh well, too late to turn back now!!!

Updated pics. Got it where we can start it at least for run up and make sure there are no leaks.

Forgive me if the frame looks a bit dirty. I think that's going to be this weekends project.

I've actually been reluctant about putting so much into the TPI setup when I've really been wanting to later upgrade to the LS motors.

The one in the picture is only a 305 so it's nothing to get excited about. But I got to thinking and this is what I plan to do over a long period of time.

Step 1, drive it and enjoy it on the road for awhile
Step 2, put a remote mount turbo on the 305, limit the boost
Step 3, pull the 305 and put in a stronger bottom engine, say a 350 or even a 383

Doing this will allow me to keep all the stuff I've bought regarding brackets, TPI, etc.

In the end, a 383 with about 7 psi of boost should run just fine down the highway. I'll let you know in say 2020. LOL

Thanks for all the comments. On initial start up, we finaly figured out that 4 of the 8 injectors weren't working correctly. So I got a set of rebuilts yesterday and will change them out tonight.

If I get it running smoothly and get the breakin completed,I'll put the headers back on instead of the cast exhaust manifolds. Then I might try to post a video. We'll see though how it goes.

So it's been a long few hours but I think we got it whooped.

Through testing using an injector light and spark plug light, everything seemed working like it was supposed to. However if you took off the injector plugs, on 5,6,7,8 nothing happened. It should idle worse although it was already idling poor.

Had to take apart the intake to change out the injectors with the new ones I got. Put it all back together, still poor idle. Well SOAB!

Found another stock style cap with the screws, not the push and twist style cap. Put it on and started it up, ran fine. Ended up being I guess a bad crossfire cap. It was brand new but I even changed out the coil between the two and no difference. Wish I would have found that cap before I ordered new injectors and went through all of that. Oh well.

In the end, it's running smoothly now. I've got one more heat cycle I want to do in the morning then I'm putting the headers and exhaust back on. Intersted to see what she sounds like

It's still a little bit of a mess. After I get a new crossfire distributor cap this week I'll be able to clean up the plug wiring. Plus it needs a good round of polishing and washing from all the messing around with it that we've done.

Now as soon as the painter decides to finish his part, it'll be full steam ahead. Well, at least to get it under it's own power. As we all know there's 1000 odds and end things that have to be done.
