Let me tell you before you loose your bud you can't imagine what it is like! I've been there a couple times now. It sucks! There isn't a way around it. When ever you let anything into your heart, it will hurt in an unimaginable way when it is gone! The only fair thing you can (for you and it) do is not put another in it's place till you are ready!

I know some people who can't understnd how an "animal" can become a family member. but they can. and when they pass on, it can be very tough. been there, and it's painful.

went thru it also a few years ago.was valintines gift i gave my wife.still have his brother (NOW 10).was real tough to let him go. i went to one of them name tag machines at petsmart, madea tag with his name and and years on it. wife has it on her key ring. see her looking at it once in awhile. this was him at5 mo.

I could never own another dog because of this reason. It hurts too much to see them die. Myself I have a BLUE & GOLD MACAW PARROT that I take with me almost every wheres on my days off of work. His names Rocket (Rocky) I brought him home when he was 3 1/2 months old and finished hand feeding him about a year later. He'll be 11 yrs old in July and will live to be 80-120 yrs old if properly taken care of all of his life. Here we are at the park just up the street from the house. He has all his flight feathers so I keep a harness on him when ever I take him outside.

sorry for your loss, my dog got hit by a truck a year and a half ago, and i'm still not over it yet, at least she isn't in pain anymore.
