Re: MisterE72's Build thread: Too much Homework
i got my 700r4 out of monster motorsports in florida...they are online...i would recomend the mega monster as it is built nice and strong, bow tie overdrives sells aa cool t.v kit for the throttle valve setup with almost any carb you could ask for...i think the mega monster is going for about 1300 with converter now.I also have a cool way to make a latching circuit using a roll control switch that automaticaally disenguages when you hit the brakes, lemme know if you are interested.

Re: MisterE72's Build thread: Too much Homework
Thanks SactoJim. I started following your build and getting ideas from it since last year. Your build thread is one of the best and inspires "mechanically simple guys" like me to get in there and try projects of our own. By the way, I'll have to get those demensions on the speaker box when I get to that point. Thanks again. Mister E

Re: MisterE72's Build thread: Too much Homework
I had some time to work on the truck today while my boys napped. I installed the ECE super trackbar kit and the rear shock relocation mount and shocks. I need to get as much done on the chasis before August. Not only because I return back to work, but also because my wife is due with our 3rd boy around the August 12th. Next up are the front shocks and the the brakes. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Re: MisterE72's Build thread: Too much Homework
MisterE,
Did you have to remove any of the crossmembers in the rear of the frame to install the CPP tank? I see they are still located in the frame, but some require you remove them for installation and re-install them after. I'm thinking of going the same route for my tank. The blazer tanks hang too low for my taste.

I went to check on the status of the bodywork today. My uncle is doing it at his house. The bed is ready for blocking and the cab got a new corner and rocker panel.

Re: MisterE72's Build thread: Too much Homework
Sorry it took me so long to get this little drawing done.In order to get the lock up converter to work properly i wired my own latching circuit.low car makes a kit but it is vacuum operated and i have also seen one that runs off of the spedo gear, but I personally wanted more control of when lock up occured. What i did was use a B and m shifter handel with a roll control button in it to lock the converter and then used a boo (brake on/off switch) out of a early 90's pick up truck which had 2 seperate switches in one,one normally open and one normally closed.i used the normally open side for the lights and the normally closed to run the converter circuit, therefore when i stepped on the brakes, the converter unlocked. You can get the relay is just a standard automotive relay sold at any autoparts store and GM sells the pigtail harness connector for the transmission.hopefully this little drawing is helpful. and keep up the good work

Re: MisterE72's Build thread: Too much Homework
one more thing, you can add an led just above the between the tcc and the relay to indicate converter lockup as i did, really its just something i thought was cool.
