Re: Anyone looking for an anniversery??? Pics!!

He has the original wheel and he'd take $2500 for it.

Just got a hold of him. he'd even take 1/2 now and 1/2 in a month or so. I'm f'n shocked.. utterly shocked.. and trying really hard to figure out a new way to justify this to the wife.

Update: It's a 327cid he's pretty sure. Cab Corners and Rockers need replaced. New rockers will come with the truck. It's located in Independence, Mo. With the bad cab corners and rockers.. I'm out.

Well I'll drag this back up. I went and looked at it Saturday afternoon while I was in KC for the Midwest Truck Nationals. If it was as good as it sounded I was prepared to buy it. I went over the truck with a fine tooth comb... It is a plain Jane truck and would make a nice truck with some work, but it needs more work than I have time to put into it at this time. Along with the rockers and cab corners it has rust in all four cab supports where they tie into the inner rocker panels,( where the cab support bushings are looks good) the front fender cups have some rust through, and there are a couple of issues with the bottom edge of the bed behind the rear wheel openings. The seat has a loose seam on the drivers side, and the dash pad has a 2 1/2" crack on the top just to the left of center.... No rust in the cowl at all and the floor pans looked good as far as I could see. Overall the bed was pretty nice (floor was straight, minimal rust, and tailgate was nice). The engine sounded good and had a 2 barrel carb. The core support looked good but the inner panels had some rust issues where they bolted to the fenders at the top. The jury is still out for me on the mileage... I have a hard time seeing a 27,000 mile truck here but I also have a hard time believing it's a 127,000 mile truck. I just don't know....

Is this truck worth saving? You betcha! I honestly see this as a 15- 1800 dollar truck. If the 50th package is worth an extra 500 bucks to you then you would be in the ballpark on what he wants for it.. If it would have had the buckets instead of the bench I would have made him an offer on it but that's life.

The owner is a heck of a nice guy so if you are interested don't hesitate to give him a call and make him an offer on it.

Re: Anyone looking for an anniversery??? Pics!!

These trucks are "anniversaries", they are 50th anniversaries. Every year is an anniversary. I own a 60th anniversary, a '72 GMC.
