I like to use 3 inch belltech spindles up front with a 1 inch drop coil. Belltech makes pretty good quality stuff, costly but worthly. For the rear I hit up CPP or ECE, 6 inch springs and super track. That simple.

No inner fenders yet. I'm gonna come up with something for those soon. I had to trim alot of the inside fender to get the truck to sit that low. I'm also waiting on custom hood hinges so I can get the hood on.

Nice!, did you modified the front crossmember? Or are you just using spindles and bags?

I've got a porterbuilt dropmember & 2.5" drop spindles.

no tilt hood. I'm waiting to see porterbuilts new hinges. Those will probably be the ones I go with.

Ahhh crap! I went and got the 20's with the 275/55's...and they will fit, but the hub size of the wheel is smaller...so they won't seat! Dang it. Nothing good comes easy I guess. Now what? I figure I will have to spacer the rears anyway, so no problem, but the fronts don't have room to put in spacers I don't think. I will have to look closer tomorrow.

If the tires are rubbing (depending on your wheels offset) Try switching to 275/45s those might work up front

Puropedo, the tires aren't rubbing, and the offset is alright, the center hub (lip) on the drums is about 3.5 inches and the wheels center opening is about 3 inches. So they won't seat on the hub, they get held out about .5 inch is all. So now I am considering pulling the front two drums and having that center machined down to fit.

I see what you mean, you are right, machine those drums down to make it work. Take some pics while youre at it, we would love to see your ride.

Hey purpedo thanks. I started a different thread and everyone is saying do machine the wheels. I don't really want to do that. They all say the hub is a bad idea. Its here

I know you are running 5 bolt disc, but do you know of any place that has replacement hubs for a 6 bolt drum setup like mine. I have been looking just to see in case the machine shop screws something up or it doesn't work, but can't find anything but the brake drum.

These pics are from a while ago. The whole front is tore down now and I am going to be putting a cpp 3/5 in soon (the current setup is poorly chopped springs) and then the 454 is going back in. Can't wait. I hope to get some time and get a build thread going.

Hey guys, I have tubbed my rear fender wells 1 3/4 inchs. I was thinking of a 20/10 rear wheel. What size tire should I run and what back spacing would be the best?

Im going with Michelin's 315/35/20s for my 68 cst project, also the Mickey thompson radials would be a good choice, check them out...

Strut, I did some measurements today, the overall tire diameter is 28.7" the width is 12.8" not bad huh?

29X15.00R20LT, is this the M/T Radial that you are running? What size rims are you running? I'm trying to get all this stuff figured out so I can buy my wheels and tires. I was gonna run a 20/8.5 wheel in front and a 20/10 in back....would the 315/35 tire be to big for the 20/10 wheel? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just getting started....

Im not running the M/T radials (I wish) I bought a set of Michelin damaris 315/35/20's for the rear that I will be using on my 68cst project, I will be posting pictures of the progress in my build thread. Im pretty sure you will need a lot of mods to acomodate those M/T, such as tubbing the bed, buying 20x14's (20x10's wont work) and narrowing the rear end. The 315's will require less work and will work on your 20x10's. Take a peek in my build thread to see how the 315's will look mounted on a 20x10.
