Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

This will work with the factory shroud pretty easily. All you will have to do is add some studs onto the cover to screw the shroud to.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

I just sold the last HD full cover with holes that I have in stock. It will be a couple of weeks before I get some more made. I still have the standard with holes and both standard and HD without holes in stock, ready to ship. I'll be out of town this week, returning on April 26 so any orders placed this week will be shipped when I get back.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Has anyone actually installed this with the Entropy radiator? I'm thinking of using the HD version on mine, but want to make sure it is going to work. I had to trim 1/4" off of the lower 4 core mounts for the Entropy, so I'm assuming the same would be off on the top.

What's the big attraction to these entropy radiators anyway? Take a look at Champion radiators. I have one of these in my truck and it fit great with the standard mounts. It has a billet neck and Tig welded construction. It keeps my truck cool even in 95+ weather with the air on. I set in traffic today for half an hour with the AC on in 95 degree heat and the engine never got over 190.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

I love the cover, but the size of the holes are a little out of scale. (too big) I'd go a little smaller and maybe add another if you have extra room. Have you seen any of the stuff Detroit Speed does for their muscle car line up? www.detroitspeed.com You'll know what I'm talking about when you look at theirs. - E

DSE does make some really nice stuff. I designed the cover with the idea that it would have a screen or other material behind the holes as a backdrop. Without a backdrop, they doo look big, but with a backdrop, I think the holes are sized right. I used perforated aluminum behind mine.

Joe, I chose the Entropy radiator based on other posts and reviews from other board members here. While I can appreciate your preference of Champion radiators I would really like to get some feedback on the radiator I am using (Entropy) and how your product would work with it.

I would think that rather than knocking my radiator choice you would be more helpful in a potential sale of your product.

I wasn't knocking your radiator choice and it wasn't my intention to come across that way. I was just wondering why so many people were going with the entropy brand. I was also offering an alternative that has been proven to fit.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Here are some measurements that may help to determine if this cover will work on whatever radiator you may be using.
The part that actually caps over the top of the radiator is 29 3/4" wide overall inside the side flanges where rubber goes on both the standard and HD versions.
The distance from the center of the mounting bolt holes to the back flange that faces the engine is 4 9/16" on a standard cover and 5 5/16" on the HD cover.

Hope that helps.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Joe,

I've got your cover on my 68 with the factory HD radiator and it fits great! I also have an Entropy radiator for my 69 Burb () with a 5.3 and your cover will need some modification in order to work. Nothing major, but it won't be bolt on like it is for the factory HD radiator. I'm sure you could modifications so it would be bolt on, but I guess that would depend on demand. Either way, it's an awesome product as is.

Thanks Rob! I really like your supercharger setup. Do you think you could post some pics of how you had to cut the cover to fit the Entropy radiator?

BTW, here is how I attached the metal behind the cover using body panel adhesive.

Thanks! I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do it. I don't want to mess the original one up, so I've been puttin it off.....
