Yeah they do but I find it easier to do 90% of my projects here at the house. Even though its frowned upon here on base, but whatever.

Got the garage all cleaned out today and worked on my buddies 2005 Ford F150 Lariat. put a new muffler and K & N Intake on it. Not bad for $140 he paid me. Tomorrow I got a leveling kit to put on a guy's 2003 toyota tacoma for another $150. All in all a good way to end the week.
Any body know how much a truck usually settles once the motor and trans is installed?

Re: New to the forum

Just curious, why did you decide to go with the dished pistons instead of flat-tops?

Re: New to the forum

Even with the dished pistons im still in the 9.5ish:1 comp ratio and I wanted the option of supercharger, turbo, or nitrous. If i decide to go that route down the road when I get the money.

Lookin REAL good! I see you have an aluminum fuel tank in the wings, very nice! Is that a dust line on the rear tire of the bike, or is that some kind of streetable slick? Im diggin the bike too! Welcome to the Board!

Thats beautiful stuff! I wish I had your drivetrain skills, I'd never leave the shop! Looks great, can't wait to see it peelin' up blacktop. (Hey, that rhymes!)

Re: New to the forum

The tire just has dirt on it. Its an 05 CBR 600RR I high sided it and wrecked it back in OCT 08. I only lack plastics and a set of cradh bars for it so it doesnt happen again. It just hasn't been a priority since I joined the Air Force in 09. The fuel cell is a 15 Gal Foam filled, Drag sumped, 0-90ohm fuel sender, 2 vents, and 2 outlets in the rear. The TH 400 was originally out of a late 80'2 Monte Carlo SS, was totally gone thru 6 months before I parked the truck. Completely rebuilt for my friend's drag car but he sold the car before he picked up the trans. I paid $300 for the built TH 400

So I'm undecided on the waterpump... Electric or factory style belt driven?

Definitely Electric on that 400! They tend to get warm since they're a Siamese bore.

Re: New to the forum

My only issue with the electric pump is mounting brackets for the alternator. So the belt won't hit the electric pump

Well found out today that CPP's Poly Carrier Bearing does not fit 3/4 ton driveline.

But on the bright side I got all my alternator brackets and pulley painted. Then got them and the alternator installed. Installed my Poly engine mounts too.
