Re: C10 daily drivers

I don't have any pics right now, but I have driven mine every day except some sundays and on vacations since November 2000. It ain't pretty but it doesn't let me down, as long as I keep it maintained, which is still better than a payment IMO.

Re: C10 daily drivers

I drive my 68 C-10 every day to work. Some days i might put 100 miles or so on it. It steers, brakes, and handles just as good as a newer truck without all the hassles and expense. Plus i never see another one on the road just like it. If you drive a new or newer truck or car it seems like you see another one exactly like yours at every other stoplight! The newest car i've ever owned was a 96 Monte Carlo, and it was the biggest pile of junk. Everybody wants a new car or truck so they can keep up with the Jone's, i say to h@ll with the Jone's! I love my old trucks, rust, dents, and all. Just my 2-cents. Joseph

Re: C10 daily drivers

A couple years ago I sold my crewcab Tacoma and bought my Blazer. I daily drive it to work in the winter and take the Harley in the summer... It doesnt get the best MPG but it averages out over the year with bike... A C10 with the right gearing would be better then my K5 as far as MPGs...

My trucks not pretty (for now) but there is no payment. It hasn't left me stranded, is easy to work on and not expensive to maintain... (PS: this doesnt include the $$ you spend to customize it how you like)

Re: C10 daily drivers

I went through my 70 about 11 years ago, new suspension, paint, interior, then have drove it daily for the last 11 years. But all the new stuff is old again, and the winters has taken its toll on the paint. Its not as fun to drive as it was. I'll probably go through it again after I finish the hotrod. But after a five year project, I'm not anxious to start another long term project!

Re: C10 daily drivers

I recently bought a '70 C10 from board member mrhino, and it will see daily driver duty! You can see it at the link below:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=130576737596

I have already ordered new seats for it that has an armrest and is nice for longer trips, and I have a Kenne Bell supercharger that will go on, too. Vintage Air will be added over the winter so I can still enjoy the truck when summer temps soar back over 100 degrees. I just sold my supercharged 2011 Silverado to replace it with the C10. I liked my 2011, but I had a chance to sell it for good money so I let it go. I don't see the point of buying another one that plummets in value when you drive it off the lot! I still have a Duramax dually for pulling the big trailers, but I'm not a fan of driving it everyday. While I won't be driving the C10 in really bad weather, she'll be in daily driver mode whenever possible. She will also make road trips to see family occasionally, so I'll also end up adding a stereo.

Now if I can just get the truck picked up by the freakin auto transport company!

Re: C10 daily drivers

Here are some pics of my '71 that I bought from a board member in Ohio. Arizona truck built in Fremont, Ca. 69 grille and bumper. 2" front springs, 3" rear springs, homemade rear shock relocaters. Lots more to do, hope to put it on the road this week.
