Re: My brides new ride
The seat foam & spring are shot so I did some seat swapping. Took the seat out of my 67 replace with buddy buckets and put the bench seat in the 65 witch the wife say it's ugly and looks like her Grandmothers couch.
the broken the swap but honey it matches your truck

Re: My brides new ride
My buddy has a 66 I think with a straight body and a 305 t350 combo for only $1,000, wish I had more time for another project, same guy has another 61 and 65 also, some people have to many project, jealous a bit. But it does look like a Grandma's couch, haha.

Re: My brides new ride
more update
both door windows felts are gone as in nothing left of them plus both window reg are shot window won't go up & won't go down I got luck as in all the screws came out easy nothing was stuck or hard in pulling everything apart now I took both reg apart to see if i could save them but the RH- passenger all the parts were rusted so bad it was nothing budt dust on the LH-driver one the tooth was worn and even with cleaning & oiling it still would stick in the same spot

Re: My brides new ride
now I ordered new reg , when buying repro check and double check and here is why, the RH was correct it was just like the factroy
the LH was not , you can see were the crank attaches is different, now I contacted the place that I purchase them about this, they sent me another one but it had the same problem so after 2 weeks of emails and pic and measuring for them I simply sent it back and bought one from another vendor that was same as the stock one so always double check before you go to far

Re: My brides new ride
now if you ask ten people on how to replace all the door windows and gasket you will get ten different answer so this just how I chose to do it.
I put the felt in first I have read alot on threads where every one says you that you have to trim them but when I pulled the old ones out they went behind the window channel so I did not trim them I put them behind the window channel the window channel is flat when you take it out of the package, you have to squeeze it into a u and push it in know just push it enough so it is flush with the door do not push it to far as it will go up into the door , just go slow and you will feel it go into place and with the felt in behind it works fine

Re: My brides new ride
after the felt and window channel I installed the window reg.The new glass that i bought is thicker than the stock glass so glass tape would not work plus with the felt in trying to push the channel through I was afraid it would damage the felt so this is what I did
I used window weld I put the window weld into the channel then put the window channel on the reg then put the glass into the channel now you not only have to get the side to side measurement correct but how far the glass goes into the channel if you push it down to far into the channel there will be a gap in the top when you go to close the window

Re: My brides new ride
The vent windows there are a couple of threads on this one is in the fact section.
This is a 2 person job well it is easier with 2 people , again measure everything first and take pics. I followed the direction in the write up that Allen did for pulling them apart. After getting everything apart and cleaned up ( I did not paint anything, wanted to keep the truck as is ) I out them together different then Allen did. First I put the flat rubber in first using the rivet and tool that comes in the kit now I took out the bottom 2 rivet and pulled the frame up enough to get the other gasket in. I sprayed the back of the gasket with WD40 , you can feel it when it pops into place I used the tool to put the bottom 2 rivet back and used it on the one vent window river. I installed the vent window assembly back into the then I used window weld and put the glass in now i did it this way because when I pulled them apart i left the glass in , after replacing all the rubber with the old glass they worked great until I reinstalled the into the door then they would not close so I pulled the glass out installed them into the door then installed the glass and they work

Re: My brides new ride
Few updates / replace the leaking 13 gal gas tank with a 20 gal & pickup-sending unit , replace the worn out manual steering box with a good used one ( capt fab hooked me up ) figured no pics were needed for these , replace the glove box and looked through everything and found the protecto plate and owners manual
went to a swap meet and picked up a air cleaner and valve covers

Looks like you have a nice project going on. Thanks for the window weld info. I will keep that tad bit of info tucked away when I have to do mine.

Re: My brides new ride
duallyjams would you like to share where the vent window rubber, window channel and window felts came from? I replaced mine about 4 years ago and all the rubber is dry rot and vent windows are very hard to open....the bad thing about it is I havent fully enjoyed driving my project yet...

Re: My brides new ride
Got all the gauges working except for the odometer and the speedometer would bounce so the only option left was to pull the gauge pod out.
think all this fine red clay dust had anything to do with it not working the nylon worm gears are worn out and one has a tooth missing fast forward got it back together and installed into the truck I added a vacuum gauge and did it exactly like chevyrestoguy write up in his thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=446527&page=3 starts at post 65
