Re: 67 ls-rrrr
Did the porterbuilt cross members have much of a weight difference over the stock pieces? I'm not interested in laying frame, but at the cost if they are lighter it may be worth buying versus trying to resto my stock pieces.
Thanks

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
I dont think there is much if any weight savings, but they sure are nice and really will stiffen the frame up, much better quality and design then the stock crossmembers. after doing my first build, I knew this was the way to go!! Much cleaner!!

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
Thanks, its amazing when how much you can get done when no one is around to interupt you all the time. Still have a little sanding and grinding to go, I thought I had the spot welds down enough, but a few are showing a little high.

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
Heck, I spent two days fooling with mine at least... and I missed the cluth rod on mine... bummer. So you skimmed it over the welds already but still have a few high spots?

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
Thanks Guy's , Ran into a major road block today. My compressor motor bit the bullet this morning. So just ordered a new one, $ 700.00 later and a week with out a compressor really puts a halt on things!!!! Of course almost everthing I have requires air to run it.

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
@ 67Cheby, thanks for the heads up about the chromoly, I will keep that in mind.
@ Timbo1, it sounds like a good move to keep the chassis solid, the prices are low and it seems like a nice upgrade.

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
Sorry guys, no pictures tonight, a little update, back from vacation and getting things back in order @ work. Picked up a Ls2 motor. Ordered the new oil pan set up, the no limits rack n pinon came in. Will get busy on installing all suspension and steering. Called the differential shop and told them to cut the rear end down 2 inches per side. Hopefully back this week, they had to order the axles from Mosher. Still missing 1 set of air bags also. Portebuilt said I should have them soon!! Pictures soon!!!!!!

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
I knew you were going to ask!!!!
Looked thru a bunch of threads and found some other builds going the same direction I'm going. Wasnt rocket science but I came up with that figure after a lot of research. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
Very nice suspension parts! Love R and P setup. How many turns of your steering wheel lock to lock? What kind of investment if you don't mind saying? I want to upgrade mine

Re: 67 ls-rrrr
Thanks I have not checked the lock to lock yet, was getting late last night when I finally got it in. I will let you know when I get there. Also I think the rack kit was around $870.00 the only thing to finish the install you will need p.s hoses.
