Clyde, as a matter of fact, I do need a new trans dipxtick. The one currently on it is so mangled for some reason. Not sure if the previous owner smashed it while taking the motor out or what else could have happened. When you say "cruise stuff", do you mean the cruise control module and associated hoses and wiring? The previous owner simply cut all of the wiring from the module. I just figured I would go without the cruise control.
