Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Once everything was painted, I through the cab on and a fender to see where it sat with the air ride deflated.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Next was to lay down the sound deadener. Also installed most of the interior wiring, brake pedal assembly, and the dash pad. Sound deadener was Fat Mat, it was a shame putting it down on fresh paint..

This is a bad pic, but all of the sound deadener is down. Installed the Ididit column and the new reproduction '69 steering wheel.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Man that is going to be one beautiful truck!!!!!!I am along for the ride on this one for sure. I have a 69 I bought that has already been painted, but after more inspection once I got it home It still needs more body work/rust repair that was covered up.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Next up was to begin installing the vintage air system. My cab was originally non-ac, so before it was painted I had cut the holes in the dash for the factory air vents. On the interior side of the firewall, I had welded studs to mount the evaporator so I wouldn't have bolts sticking through the firewall.

Yeah, I know.. I'm back at work now from being out for paternity leave, so posting will probably be a little slower than before. Stay tuned though, truck is near completion.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

While I was at home with our newborn son, I was able to rebuild and recover the bench seat. I had blasted and painted the seat frame/brackets earlier.

So, I just needed to build up some of the worn foam, put new burlap backing on the foam, and put the new cover on.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Got back into the shop this morning, so I took some pics of where the truck is currently at. Once I got the cab back on the chassis, parts were going on pretty quick so I don't have many pictures..

At some point, I had replaced the intake and valve covers with freshly painted chevy orange pieces. Accessory brackets are Alan Grove.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

I posted earlier about the clips that I used to secure the fuel and air lines, but here is a pic. Quick clips. Sorry about the chassis being so dirty, hasn't been washed since being painted.

Re: Lowrie's 69 Shop Truck

Here is the current state of the interior.

RideTech supplied all of the air ride components. Compressor is mounted on the outer driver side frame rail, near the rear of the cab.

A/C lines cut, crimped, and installed. Try to ignore the masking tape..

Love the interior color choice. Awesome build. I've got some friends that live by you. Next time in your neck of the woods I'll have to check it out.
