Re: Pic Request Non lowered trucks Please
It's all a personal preference. Some like the 2wd hotrod look. Some like the jacked up 4x4's. I bought a 3/4T longbed so that I could put a tool box in the back and still have 6 feet of bed space. I wanted a truck to use as a truck.
I do plan on lowering mine a couple inches, but plan on keeping my springs so that it will still have the same load capacity. Just going to lower my leaf spring points and front spindles to get better handling. |

Re: Pic Request Non lowered trucks Please
I prefer the original stance myself.....that's how my truck will stay but I'm sure my springs are compressed a bit also.

Re: Pic Request Non lowered trucks Please
Thread from the dead! Here's my '70 with new front coil springs, but original rear leaf springs. Note that it had a camper shell installed in '73, and a new one installed in '16. I'm looking at the rear leaf springs with a jaundiced eye, for wear. Due for replacement. Of course, sitting on a sloped driveway may cause a difference, so take this pic with a grain of salt. I have the original 16.5" steel wheels and new (in that pic) Firestone Transforce 9.50R16.5LT tires (on 8" wide wheels). Plus a bunch of junk in the bed, which doesn't weigh all that much difference- maybe 200 pounds of stuff.
That is, if the OP from 9 years ago is still here or cares...

Re: Pic Request Non lowered trucks Please
Here is my stock height '68 SWB on 15 x8 rally wheels. It rides great for a truck and gets used regularly.
