Re: Anybody here with tricked out chevy 6 cylinders?

I used silver header paint for the lettering on my valve cover. Then touched up some spots with a sharpie....has help up perfectly!

You might consider a .30 or .60 overbore...and maybe a mild cam to.

Yes, planning on a mild cam upgrade.
Will that require different push rods, rockers, springs, etc?

Will require better springs, I am not sure if those stock cams are mechanical or hydraulic? Rocker ratio will stay the same as far as I know...if you can find a cam that uses the stock rocker then you will be fine. Push rods I am not sure. The cam I am getting for my 292 comes with them. As far as I know length won't change...if the motor is gonna be reving over 6,000 rpm then a 3/8 pushrod is required. Hope it helps....here is a book you might consider purchasing. T.J.

6 or 1/2 dozen. Can't wait to see how she runs.
Still need to get fuel tank, run lines, and some wiring.

It may be called "tricked out" compared to what it looked like when I got it!-LOL Late 1960's Chevy 230 in my '55 GMC.

No, headers are just tubes from Chevs of the 40's I think. Ordered them from somewhere else, but that was the box that showed up, weird.

Re: Anybody here with tricked out chevy 6 cylinders?

When I bought my truck (1973) it had a hot six in it with a home made intake that my brother and his friend made in highschool metal shop class. I have been an inline six fan ever since.

I am now rebuiding it (for the third time) with a 53 Corvette theme so it will be running my dream set when I was a kid this 53-54 Corvette intake with three side draft single barrels.

MARTINSR, that is one wild looking homemade high rise intake. Love the sidedraft setup. Jim
