Re: A rare find? 1ton 1961 Chevrolet Apache C30 Longbed Stepside
Cool truck. One of my parts trucks is a long bed step side 64. But it's only a 1/2-ton. I too agree that it's rare, good luck with it! Joseph

Re: A rare find? 1ton 1961 Chevrolet Apache C30 Longbed Stepside
Lol, I know. Im Just exited about every bolt and nut on this thing. This is a dream come true for me and I still find myself walking out to see if it's not just me daydreaming. The 235 is just icing on the cake for me because of it's historical value and the fact that it hasn't been swapt out for some modern crap.

Re: A rare find? 1ton 1961 Chevrolet Apache C30 Longbed Stepside
That's the original valve cover..I used dupli color blue and black...the intake is the same blue..and the silver lettering on the valve cover and strips on the intake are a hi-temp paint ceramic silver. Yeah..painted it myself..lol..cheaper that way..no the truck will be painted a slightly different blue, The entire truck will have a couple different blues...but all to make it look neat..it hard to explain..pictures will one day. lol

Re: A rare find? 1ton 1961 Chevrolet Apache C30 Longbed Stepside
I can't find a 9 foot stepside bed either. They are always attached to trucks. I can't hardly find the trucks either.

Re: A rare find? 1ton 1961 Chevrolet Apache C30 Longbed Stepside
To bad you don't have half a truck avail. I couldn't buy one that straight and pull the bed off and feel good about it. I still have not found a bed for my truck. So I have it just chilling with a flat bed on it. The tires I have on mine look like similar. Front ones are street rear are all terrain.

Re: A rare find? 1ton 1961 Chevrolet Apache C30 Longbed Stepside
Just found this thread. And coincidently I was just in an old country salvage yard here in Pa. and was looking over a 64 c30 with a long step side bed on the back. Not sure if the old girl has a title or not, and it's a big window cab. It's the first one of those I've ever seen.

Dang man you better snatch it up. I have yet to see a bed like that with my own eyes. Makes me wish I lived in PA right now.
