Re: Which oil pan?

The knockoffs don't have a bypass pressure relief so either run a filter with internal bypass or take your chances that your 21 year old motor is clean enough inside that you won't be plugging any filters.

I would not trust the oil pickup o-rings that come with the cheap pans, toss it and buy a felpro or some other known quality part. If you compare the two you may find the cheap one is a lot harder. if it fails catastrophically, end of engine. If it just cracks then the pump sucks some air to add to oil. Foamy oil will make your lifters will sound like rocks in a can .

those two points aside, there are 2 swaps with ebay sourced no name pans in my driveway, they hold oil and don't leak. Both pans were actually quite nicely finished as well. I'd do it again.

Re: Which oil pan?

I used the Chevrolet Performance Muscle Car oil pan kit on the F-body LS1 I swapped into my '67 C10
I set the engine so that the oil pan is slightly higher than the cross member.
There's about ½"-¾" clearance on the top of the cross member.
