Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

I am still fitting the floor pan.
I decided to bolt in a center hump I got from a swap meet.
Name: fp24.JPG
Views: 1036
Size: 99.6 KB
I used long bolts and used some of them as studs to
line all the floor pan and Firewall up even more.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

Here some more progress on my Floor.
First of all, I am still debating on whether
to incorporate the jack handle stamping into
my new floor pan. Of course I would weld
this in under the rear seat. It is the only
solid section in the original floor.
Name: fp25.jpg
Views: 1016
Size: 46.7 KB
I finally got the big gap closed between the toe panel
and the new floor pan.
The reason this was such a problem. Is the original welds
in the toe panel was not welded very good from the factory.
Maybe a Friday evening or Monday morning (production line) thing.
About 6" up the toe panel and 14' across the bottom there
was a 1" gap when I pulled the floor mat out.
This caused the cab to settle over time.
I have it all Squared Up and fitting again Finally.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

This is What helped me the most.
I bolted the best fitting center hump I had.
(without using the Original one)
I used long bolts as studs screwed in from
the bottom
(So I could pull the floor hump down with a washer and nut )

And the bolts I could start from the top side,
I put nuts and washers on them and slowly
tighten the nut and
worked with each bolt till I got the
Trans hump pulled down tight.
This put the toe panel and the floor fit good in the
front center of the floor.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

That is a great way to use those cool pliers and the hi hump to get that gap lined up.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

Now that my floor-pan is fitting like I want it too.
I cut some more tubing and drill holes in the tubes
to use the seat mounting bolts
and welded that to my cross-bracing.
So I can remove the floor Again
Name: fp30.JPG
Views: 949
Size: 101.7 KB
I chose to do this for easy access
to the foot-well patches that I'm going to
replace. Once I fit both foot-well patches,
I will tack them in & put the floor back.
Name: fp31.jpg
Views: 921
Size: 45.6 KB
Name: fp32.JPG
Views: 967
Size: 109.1 KB
Then I will repair the lower A-Pillar.
Doing it this in this order I can keep
the location of the 2 lower a-pillar
and lower fender mounting holes in
the ( same ) location.
I used a small dremel tool
on the spot welds. It worked good
for this area.

Used this dremel with cut-off
wheels that came with it
to stay out of the lower A-pillar.

I lined the patch up and scribed
it on the back side for my cut line.
