Re: John's Project
Hell yeah!
Or better yet, get both a '60-66 and a square, then you can be like me and Hoser here seriously, I'm sorry you are selling, but know where you are coming from. I'm glad it's going to your cousin. I know he will treat it right, and maybe you will end up with it again when the timing is better. Feel free to continue posting progress of it here

Re: John's Project
Yeah who knows what the next project will be, or if there even will be one. It probably won't be until my youngest gets out of school, which is about 5 years. Mainly because I don't want to buy another one, and then have the same issues come up. So I'll just keep my eyes open on what I want, and start saving some money up so that way I'll have a good start when the time comes.
I'm not going anywhere, just won't have a truck to post about. Well not that I posted about it that much anyway. |

Re: John's Project
That is too bad about your project. You could do like most of us do anyway... let it sit in your backyard and look at it all the time and then maybe wipe the dust off of it once or twice a month and wish you had money.... at least that is what I am doing right now ! But I do understand. It does suck, but the way I look at mine is I don't owe anything and it has sat for so long anyway it doesn't matter at this point if it sits another few years... Look forward to seeing you in May, tho!

Re: John's Project
It sucks, but there will always be another one. Big kudos to you for putting your family first though! I'm a big personal finance goob, and do a lot of financial counseling. It never ceases to amaze me at how many people put their wants and toys ahead of their family, then find themselves in a deep sh!t hole with no ladder. I know that's not the case here though, as you are obviously smart enough to realize that. Now you just have more time to save and plan out the next one.
BTW, everyone KNOWS the coolest bunch is right here on this part of the board!

Re: John's Project
Thanks guys. Yeah it does kind of suck, but I'm trying to stay optimistic about it. My cousin came and picked it up yesterday so it's officially gone, but not that far away either. I know I'll have another truck someday. I won't give a time table, but I'll know when the time is right this time. I'll make sure and have a fund set aside so when I do get one I'll have some funds set aside so I don't run into the same issue as I did on this one. You never know what is in store down the road.

Re: John's Project
sorry. but if you wait until you have a "fund" set aside to get a truck and build it then you might as well write it off.
Just pick one up and start again. Last edited by highperf4x4; 04-24-2010 at 03:42 AM. |

Re: John's Project
I probably won't have enough in the fund to buy one, and completely build it. Just enough set aside so it's not always getting put on the back burner for other issues that arise. I guess the fund would just be more for a cushion than one for the truck. I guess I should have worded it differently.
