Ok guys I have run into a snag with the disc brake install. I installed the POL Disc brake conversion front hard line set and it fits pretty good. I got the CPP disc brake front conversion hoses from a board member and the hose ends are larger than the line ends my question can I go with a set of factory stye 71-72 front brake hoses?

I had my alignment guy, (a gearhead, and good friend), align my blazer.
I told him to align it as low as possible.
He did the best he could at keeping it low,... but I would have liked a lower ride height.
That's really what a Dropmember is for.

If you can find "inverted flare" adapters,... you can use them to adapt your hoses.
The 71-72 hoses have two different size hose fittings.
(thats the way they were from the factory)
So you would still need an adapter on one side.
I used the ECE conversion hoses on my red '69.
They are a direct bolt on.

I have extra long 73-87 hoses on my blazer, so it doesn't stretch the brake line so tight when air'd out.
But they require an adapter also.

I got my inverted flare adapters at my local ACE hardware store.

My bags are mounted directly to the frame.
Slam Specialties bags have a huge port size, (3/8"npt or 1/2"npt), that requires a pipe thread bushing to reduce down to my PTC air line fitting.
I think I used a uni-bit up to 3/4" and then cleaned up the hole with a 7/8" standard drill bit with a 1/2" reduced shank.

Ok so I bought a set of the 4x4 front brake hoses from Oreillys and they fit like a glove and are longer for the aired version thats coming Anyone else ever tried this?

Oreilly's part number BH79339 and they are for 72 4x4. Had to cut the two ears off but they bolt up to the caliper just like the conversion hoses. Plus I didn't need and adapters

I still need to figure a sanitary way to mount them to the lower A arm. Any ideas?

Some more progress, check out how short the PO cut the stock coils. That's my 3" drop coils next to them.

I ended up using a 7/8" drill bit for the air fitting hole.

I suggest using the hat's first and see how far you get into your c-notch,... especially since you have 2" lowering blocks.

And yes,... you can drive it as low as possible.
But you will have to air up quite a bit to get the front end back into alignment.
Just depends how often you want to replace your front tires.

Very well said. One reason why I used the hats was I didn't want to go through all the work of drilling the frame for the fittings and bolting the bag down. I also new at some point I would go much lower with the dropmember, just didn't realize it would be this soon When I had the bags mounted with the plates it bottomed out in my notch with the 2" lowering blocks. Now I had welded in my own notch but it was equivalent in height to cpp or porterbuilt. Also with the 2" blocks your ride height will be lower then if you didn't run the blocks with the plates. I also agree with Keith that low ride heights require a dropmember and is ultimately why I decided to just do it.

Great now you got me thinking that everything I did today was a waste Now I gonna have to bag it and THEN decide its not low enough when I knew up front that the dm was what was needed.

And some pics of the finished product. The front ended up much lower than I really expected even though it was right on with Keiths red truck. It dropped an additional 1 1/2" I think the brakes may still have some air but we ran out of time so I'll have to bleed them some more. I forgot to tighten that little tiny plug on front of the prop valve Oh has a super nice stance and with 7" in wheels all around I am gonna just roll it for a bit......then maybe a drop member??

The stance is perfect!

The 4x4 hoses have a through frame connection just like the 73-87 hoses.
I think there should be a nut on this hose to mount it solid to the bracket.

How close are your a-arms to the ground?
You might have to learn how to drive it differently.
Watch out for potholes in the road!

I used the standard c or u clip from the old hose and it is holding nice and secure but I will check the wrecking yard next time I'm out for that nut. I have def reached the lowest static point without changing the crossmember or doing a step notch in the bed. The A arms are low low low so I will watch where I go carefully. Luckily Lodi streets are very well maintained and very rarely have any issues that aren't dealt with in a day or so.
