Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Replaced the exterior pitted door handles with fresh chromed repops. Replaced the cracked front signal light lens with repops as well. It's the little things some times.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Thanks Mark! I spent all weekend on it and got the first cut finished but I still have 1 more step to do tonight. Here's the other side. Good god I forgot how much work this is... I'm not sure how much body shops charge for this but it can't be cheap... This sucks! Haha! But it does look nice!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Neither was today, but both were recent work on the truck:
Went from this battered seat with a cheap cover: ![]() To this nice tweed & vinyl seat I bought off craigslist(from someone who hangs out here no less): ![]() I also installed this tool box in the bed. It has wingnut screws through the bottom going into nut inserts in the bed so I can remove it easily. ![]() |

That new seat sure makes a nice improvement and looks a lot more comfortable.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
If the heater looks like that, it might be worthwhile to pull the cowl vent panel and the vent outlets in the cab and clear out the plenum with a weed blower. Those leaves love to hold moisture and start things rusting.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
No pics, but I scored a front sway bar and brackets from an '87 C10, and another voltmeter (the first one I tried replaceing my ammeter with is not working) and an entire front serpentine setup with alternator, PS pump, compressor, all brackets, and hardware for $60. Most components are probably going to need replacing, but at least I have cores, right? The serpentine setup is from a '92 5.7L. Hope it all fits.

Again, you scored big time, and I'd bet the components will happily surprise you as well! Sam |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Not so much what I did today, but over the summer. With colder weather moving in, I am pretty much done working on my truck for the year. I have managed to get quite a lot accomplished though and am pretty psyched to think that by next summer I should be driving it. I have all new brakes plumbed and added a new booster and master cylinder. I installed a new intake and carb and fired up the 350 for the first time. I was like a little kid at Christmas when I heard it come to life for the first time. (Really loud though with only the exhaust manifolds)! I have all the wiring fixed and all the lights and gauges work. I installed a new aluminum radiator, as well as new u-joints and a carrier bearing.
