Thanks guys. Slowly but surely...
Ask and ye shall receiveith... Before (excuse my anti-rust coating...): Z-Bend on 4" flat stock for reference: And after: I was able to adjust it so the indicator is dead on in all gears. Plus as an added bonus, there's a whole lot less play now. Gotta rebuild the column to get it perfect... |

When you are done fabbing are you gonna break down the whole truck and paint and detail everything? You may have answered this before, but scanning back through 32 pages will make my eyes pop out =)

That's a nice clean install too. I think I'm going to have to get one of those.
It looks like it also works for all GM transmissions, and automatic columns. Sweet!!

Did you have to make the bend to clear something? I thought it would go in as it was out of the package.

It would have been binding the hiems with no bend on this install. I also gave it that shape to provide more exhaust clearance. If that was not a concern you could get away with a single bend. |

I got some good shop time today. I knew the bent header extensions I picked up would only be a starting point. Here's how they looked on first install: That was no good so I did some pie-cuts and shortening: almost there... Another pie cut and we're money: Here's the routing so far: |

Still need to weld in the rings but I wanted to be sure the hole positions in the TA xmember were right first. This is with the rear bags fully collapsed:
I'll probably have to clearance that floor brace a bit: |

Thanks mike.
So, you have a cnotch also right? You went OVER the trailing arms.. I thought that when you aired out all the way, the exhaust would hit.. Guess not. Thanks for the pic man... |

Man, that's clean.
Just proof you can do damn near anything yourself if you have the time, patience, and the will to learn. I know you've heard this alot, but, you're an inspiration to us all man. Thank you. -Sam.

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
Thanks guys This is my first "real" exhaust system install. I cobbled together the previous system before and after shortening, but it was no where near this quality; just good enough to get it on the road with no leaks.
lyriks, this is why I chose not to flip the TA tabs on the xmember like the ECE and CCP versions come (ECE is reversible; bolt-on, CCP is not). I do have a step notch and I will be attempting to run pipes all the way back |

Mike,
Do you plan on running an X-Pipe?

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
I see what you mean. A bolt in crossover in front of the transmission mount should work well.
