A YouTube channel called Hand Built Cars harvested our pics and made a (32 min!) slide show. I have actually watched some of their build videos before thinking they were posted by the builders. It's kind of surreal.

...anyway I guess our posted pics are for grabs. Here's the link:

I'm about to go see if any other build threads from the board have been picked up. This is crazy. Be safe out there.

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

Oh my...Bring A Trailer is haunting me right now. It is Halloween I guess.

...still not a fan of the anodized grill change. Prefer the black letters and stripes. Chassis could use a detail...but on balance not terrible. I sold it five years ago with 200 miles on it (and a 350), so she's only done 226 since (and less on the LS). I guess we'll get to see the market on it now.

(EDIT: And they linked the cut and paste YouTube video! )

Crazy to think it has crisscrossed the US from MT to GA to CA then landed in Canada. Still looks great!

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

Too late to buy this Blazer?

The before & after are rich, you probably miss the 5-6 washers on the cowl panel most. Looked familiar, though you have mine beat. I'm still two on the RH side

So much to like about that truck, the body/trim lines are nuts for starts.

She's been sold twice since I let her go. So...probably never too late. With regard to the shut lines....always felt like she was in at least one roll over. Probably where she lost the original top.

I thought perhaps the old guy swiped his camper mirrors on the RH side my project. Nope, T-boned & bent pillar. My friend who is painting it called it something effect of classic auto-body forensics after seeing where they flamed the cab underside That side was a mess though they did a nice job cab & rocker with luck.

How did you reduce your cowl panel from 5-6 shim washers to none? I mentioned mine unfortunately takes 3/16", which is the side that was swiped. Otherwise the panel is good. It hasn't been painted yet, might be an option to change it. Too late to change the cab.

Some of the problem came out just in metal repair, body mounts, squaring things up, etc. But to get all of it out and not stare at a stack, Eric employed a cheat code of sorts. He removed and repositioned the cowl bracket itself so that it extended further. If you look closer on the inboard side, the repositioned bracket is down about 1/4" relative to the front cowl lip.

No one would ever know except him and me.....and now maybe whoever reads this post .

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

I totally missed it, but the old girl hit the block again last year. You can see how I might have overlooked it. Certainly not my cup of tea...but then again somebody else is buying the bags. Still less than 700 miles on her at the time of the auction. Barrett-Jackson seems to be the one cashing in the most.

Those wheels are worse than the often used '80's Rallys.

This is an example why you don't mess with perfection. Everything they have done to this has been a downgrade..

That's nice of you to say. I hate it when trucks get sold at the end of threads too. I've got another thread in my sig where the same thing happens. I don't really regret either at this point. Loved both those trucks and got so much out of the projects...not the least of which are the friends I've made on and off this board around them.

But I am happy to say that I'm about to add another thread to my sig and this truck will be a keeper. Hopefully you'll come check that one out. It will at least have the virtue of having a different ending.
