Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I've had only decent success with a spray clear as sometimes they yellow or make the part cloudy...
You COULD just sell it when it comes time to buff them again

"Should" be fine...since it looks like they're on the frame most of the way but I guess it'll have to wait till you get them in to be sure.

Really worried about buying and then they don't fit. I'll have to see what the return policies are for em before I purchase.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
It is a great offer, but only if I finish it off how he wants it. His ideas were good and probably what I would have done anyway. Wish we could all travel around and see each others rides, maybe one day!

The Parts Gods smiled on me today! Shiney things! Couldn't wait for the prop valve so I went ahead and istalled it.

Bling..... Thanks dude! It made it a little brighter under the hood for sure. Now for the prop valve, plumbing, calipers, and rotors. Still need to buy some slotted drilled rotors.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Just wanted to say wow. Your truck is amazing, and your work is very impressive.
I haven't been on the site in a long time because I have no idea when I will actually get a chance to work on my 69, but after seeing this thread I'm going to have to have a conversation with my wife about making it a priority. It's been in my family for about 26 years, but unfortunatley it has been in a shed at my step-dad's farm for the last 12. |

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Took some time to do a couple of things to my "sancha". Made a bracket for the prop valve that came out really nice, ran lines to the master cylinder, and installed the antifreeze bottle. I should have brakes by the end of the weekend!!!!!
Picked a nice spot for the prop valve to live, the hole by the e-brake. I may have to polish these lines too. Tried to get all "technical" bending these lines , they came out alright. This is the original bottle from 67........sweet.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
you can buy new caps and new labels for the bottle, they look pretty cool with the colored fluid in them

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I need to check into the labels. Kinda like the old cap though. A nice Wild Turkey 101 label would look cool cause it has some orange in it!!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Things are getting a little too shiney on the drivers side under the hood so I opted to paint all of the brake lines gloss black, that is dust on the lines in the pic. It looked pretty cool and they "hide" a little better on the frame. Wow......I need to do some touch ups in the engine bay.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I bagged a few of those wild turkeys last weekend! : ) Don't think the brakes are gonna be done this weekend though. I pulled the brake lines from the rear to the front and decided to reroute them on the frame and paint them black also. Once again, another set back due to details.
