Re: New to the forum
Looking good! That stinks about the carrier bearing! At least they're letting you return it.

Re: New to the forum
<<Update>>
Got all my Heater hoses, PCV, Brake Booster, Trans vacuum hose, and secondary filter to carb hose on. I also added an electric choke to my Edelbrock 750cfm carb that didn't have the option of a mechanical secondary carb w/electric choke. I took the choke off my 600cfm Edelbrock. It was very simple and fit perfectly.

Re: New to the forum
Well found out recently that my wife is pregnant again with our to be 3rd child. This is always good news but now, I am with only one car and if I finish the truck now I can't put all the kids in it if I were watching them all...
So my dilema... Do I finish the truck anyway and just deal with not having the ability to go anywhere if the wife is out? Or delay the truck again, Buy a 1970 Suburban K10 for $3,500 I found with minimal rust, runs good, just need to swap my old Edelbrock onto it, and give it a tune up. everything is cheap and easy to fix and I got plenty of backup parts if I get in a bind. I hate being so close but I also would love to have a Suburban too. I am by no means giving up on my truck and I'll never sell it or my tools. But convincing my wife that I want to buy another old vehicle is going over like a Honda at a Super Chevy Show. I might just buy it and deal with the death glare and cold shoulder for awhile. LOL!!! I already have $1,000 put aside and could easily have another $1,000 by the end of May.. What y'all think? What would you do?

We understand your situation. I say you can't go wrong with a 70 burb. Especially if you can enjoy it with your whole family.

Re: New to the forum
Kind of slow finding thread, but welcome, nice project, engine looks great, being a 400 and having heating issues on some I would downsize your waterpump pulley to spin it faster for better cooling while cruising slow, congrats on the new baby, life happens and projects get slowed down, been there when we bought a house and also when we found out we were having twins, good luck in all.

Re: New to the forum
So my shifter hits the bottmon of my 8" brake booster with my CaptFab bracket. I think I have foound a solution. here is my crude drawing of what I'm going to do to my shift linkage at the bottom of my column. I'm going to cut the orange section out and weld back together to get the clearance I need.

Re: New to the forum
Well here's an update. Took the cab back off need to clean up the underside of the cab. Bought an engine hoist from Tractor Supply for $200. Finally got the motor off the engine stand and got the trans mounted to the engine stand for cleaning, new seals, and filter.

Re: New to the forum
Just a quick update.
My wife had our third baby girl early December! Perfectly healthy and beautiful. Now that she's almost 3 months old its time for me to get back elbow deep in the truck. I found a plastic inner glove box for under $50 on ebay. Its gonna be weird having a functional glove box and not just a door to look at your own feet haha. More to come soon.

Re: New to the forum
Ebay 2 mins after I paid for the 15 gallon I found a 20 gallon go figure. But the 15 gives me more clearance under the truck anyhow

Re: New to the forum
The seller's name is Skipwhite He has a 15 gal polished aluminum one w/fuel level sender for $169+$15 shipping. It has The mounting tabs though and not the straps like the one I bought from him awhile back. BD_Racing has a 15 Gal, w/0-90ohm fuel level sender for just under $200 + Free shipping. But the strap kit is another $39

Slowly but surely
Last couple of days been working on acquiring the necessary hardware.
Plastic glove box- EBay Front shock conversion DONE. Shocks look crappy but still work great. I'm probably going to cut the springs down some more if the spring don't settle alot once the motor and front end are back on. It's still way high for what I want CPP Transmission crossmember installed

Re: New to the forum
Yeah some of his other stuff seems cheap but the fuel tank looks awesome. Welds and everything look great. I definitely will never go back to a plastic fuel cell, my last one leaked around the fittings on the bottom.

Re: New to the forum
Thanks for the feedback. The tank you pictured does look to be made well. Way cool.
