Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Blazer/Jimmy?

Does the exterior color force the interior? that 671 gray would looks great with just about any color.
I might have to build a highlander clone with a blue exterior, 671 interior

671 was offered with all exterior colors as a recommended combination.

On blues I'd be more inclined to run 677 Blue or even 686 Orange plaid with a 523 Dark Blue exterior. 510 Medium Blue and 671 Gray would be a good looking combination as well.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Blazer/Jimmy?

Here is my Highlander. Almost ashamed to say that I do not have a lot of good pics of it so you can see the seats. Its in really rough shape and I have since begun a teardown to sandblast, etc. I was not even considering going back original because it is so far away from where it started. It is White (originally green), has a Black hard top (Was originally White), and does not have the original motor in it. Also missing the lower trim that it originally had. Without the original motor not sure whether its worth taking it back to the old color or moving forward (was considering Blue). I realize ultimately its mine but was curious to hear others thoughts if you have a chance. Have a good one, great looking Blazers on here!

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Blazer/Jimmy?

I'd suggest moving forward at this point. However it is possible to keep the Highlander heritage. The actual cost of a Highlander retoration is the seat covers, every other expense is the same to a given detail or quality level. So maybe do a progressive restoration. 523 Dark Blue is always a great choice. A white top works so well with it! Leave the moldings off for now if the holes are correctly filled. I'd keep a windshield molding though. Inside just do the correct CST trim items and a set of blue or gray plaid seats. Then maybe later start detailing it up to include the exterior moldings and other correct bits as time and money permit.

BTW I'd keep those mirrors, its amazing Chevrolet didn't offer them as RPO on Blazers 70-72.
