Yes... I have done plenty of butt welds in my day. Also worked as a glazier for 10 years. 6 years of that employed at one of the largest glazing companies in the midwest. If anyone is interested in seeing some of my work please feel free to look here http://www.yourascent.com/the-view/p...px?section=All. This building was designed by Daniel Libeskind, a world renowned architect known for his ground breaking asymmetrical buildings which seem to defy gravity. He was also chosen as the lead architect with the design of the monumental new World Trade Center Project. Me and my brother welded frames attached to structural tubed steel for every high end balcony on this condo and hand set every panel all the way up to the 27th floor penthouse.

True, but I've seen some really crappy welds done by people who think they're doing a good job. Add that to the fact that you cannot inspect it because it's inside a column. It's just not really worth the risk for what, a hundred dollars or so?

I have around 5-6 van tilts, one rv tilt which has the correct length steering shaft, and one true truck tilt.

Re: Restored Auto Tilt Column

Hey buddy, Just wanted to check in and say hi. I recognized that building you worked on right away.Awesome structure. When I go to Cincy to see Reds games it is next to the Roebling Bridge which was designed by Roebling before he did the Brooklyn bridge.
(I trust my bed supports are still safe. I promise to get over to you on my way to Cincy for a game)

Re: Restored Auto Tilt Column

do I have this right, you do not move the NNS to the truck location when you rebuild a van column to put in a truck?
