Yeah, I want that satisfaction, and I want to keep it because it was my dad's (he passed away in 07') but sometimes I just think I'm in over my head. I need a truck for my senior year and there's no way I can finish this by then...

Dont sell it, the truck was your dads and to have something like that, it is very precious to have, i just found out that my aunt had my great grandpaw's truck and I tried to get it, but nope she wont, so if you have something like that keep it for your kids or something lol and you can tell them how hard you worked to get it like it is. i know how it is i had a 78 4wd drive and i took it down to the bare frame it had not been in the family but i worked my butt off on it lol but then things got hard in the winter and i scraped it and sold the parts off it, anyway the point is, you need it for senior year right just try to get it running and everything working and worry about the body when you have time with a little hard work and patience you can accomplish anything. and we are here for ya anytime.

The engine running.. it should as is, but its never been run before
Pretty much a whole new front end (fenders, core support, grille)
New tires
Atleast primer, preferably paint..
I need to put patches inthe floor because its oregon and I don't want wet feet.
And I have to go through the a/c system, well get the ac system.. and make sure there are no critters
Inner Door panels.

I have exactly... $0 in my account for this truck, and I don't have a job. And I'm not allowed to get one.
So, yeah.. I'm screwed with this time frame.

The problem with that, is I want it to be done right. And finish the shiny stuff down the road. I can't start something and do a half ass job. Its either do it or don't.

good luck with your project!! it really isnt as hard as it sounds to get that truck going again for rubber, find some used stuff of craigslist it dosent have to be new it just has to work. i alas do alot of stuff and have to do it over again later lol. its good that you are starting working on this young i still have my dads 69 gmc and i LOVE the thing you wont be unhappy that you kept this rig! anyways again good luck!!

It great to see you kids getting into these old trucks. You got a good start and a great reason...since it was your dads truck. I wish i had one of my dads old trucks. I was 17 when i rebuilt my first car. That was a 72 GTO. Trucks have always been a part of my life. Always had one. Always a chevy. Like now...69 LWB Stepper and a 77 El Camino. Okay, I hate the fact that I'm not talking to the guy, now my uncle says it at least a 69' I really wish I could see the truck so the year of the truck is uncertain, but it is the newer body style, no power brakes...

All I know is it has a 350 a rebuilt tranny and he drove it to oregon from texas, then around here for a few months and the tranny started making a noise so he parked it. The guy in texas says hell fix it if we send it to him and hell send it back, which may be worth it..

The blue truck will stay together, if I do get the yellow truck I will only take the power brakes off blue to use on the yellow.
Either way I have a truck, one way is a little more time consuming and $$$ consuming..

Nope. Been busy, the toyota got its right side all finished and then we started getting ready for the dunes. Its been too hot here to be in the sun tinkering with the truck.. ill get updates when I get back to it

Bad news boys ...my uncle "upgraded" me to an 85' gmc serria 1500..
So Last word I got is he's pulling the engine and tranny and parting the 71 out
I'm not supper happy about the whole thing but I got a running truck no rust for 500$
I can't complain
I sure will miss the 71
