Thanks 72Cheyenne. Now that the truck is assembled I think the front ones look small, but its all relative I guess, if it had 18s on the rear too, the fronts would not look so small... I am going to stick with the current 20/18 setup. Laid out the front tires already rest on the inners, so another 1.5-2" would just make that worse, plus the way it is now I could conceivably drive with less pressure in the front, at least when doing the fairgrounds crawl.

The tires are Toyo Proxes STs. 315/35/20 rear, 255/45/18 front. I wanted 245/45 for the front but those don't come in the ST line. On the tire calculator at 1010tires.com the fronts are supposed to have a sidewall height of 4.51", and the rears 4.34", so .17" of an inch, but as you can see in reality the difference is more than that. I am going to live with it. Its mid July and I want to drive this truck before that white stuff comes back again!

These are the trucks that influenced my setup

I got to tell you choosing rims and tires is a hard thing. I hope I am happy with the setup I have when it is done. If I had your truck I would just drive and enjoy it. It looks Killer!!!

I like your set-up! I had a 67 SWB that I was going to use that set-up on (maybe smaller front tires.) Lookin good!!!

I appreciate the compliments, and that is the plan now, finish and drive!

I get my bedliner in today, then wire tail lights, diagnose and fix sticky front brakes, then cruise .

working on finding a tire dealer that can set me up with the right sizes for the right price. I am also replacing my pads and wheel bearing at the same time.

I'll say this.....that deep back rim looks fricken great with the tire all tucked in that wheel well.

You must of narrowed your rear a little and widened you bed wheel wells?

Truck looks great now and will look fantastic when all back together.

Yes, I copied Kxmotos baby blue 67 truck; 8" narrower than stock 9" F*rd rear-end, added 5.5 to wheel wells, 20x10s with 3" BS. Hope to be driving it this week, then on to installing the obnoxious stereo .

72Cheyenne - I am excited to see those wheels on, good luck on the tire hunt!

Re: Stagger wheel size or not? 18" & 20" or 20" all the way, What do you think?

Ok, resurrecting this thread because I have some driving time on my truck now.

I am running the stagger 20 rears/18 fronts. For the look I wished I had gone with 20s on the front, but now that I am driving the truck and have found what air pressures I like, I am glad that I have 18s. I say this because even with the 18s the tires are pretty close to the inner fenders at 82-85 psi, about 2.5" I'd say. If I was running 20s with this pressure I'd be near 1.5" before bottoming out. I have driven the truck with 90-95 psi in the front and its just too rough riding for my tastes.

Of course, this would not be an issue if you don't run the stock inner fenders. If anyone would like pictures of my truck at ride height, I will be happy to shoot the appropriate picts and post them...

I would love to see pics of ride height. I would love to run the 315 but would like a little more side wall. Your truck looks good.

I went with 20 's all the way around. You want that stance. Buy some lowered coils and or drop spindles. I have that stance but when it comes to the tires I can rotate them. I have drop coils , 2.5 drop spindles with disc brakes and a front sway bar. It rides very nice. Here is a bad pic..

Mines bagged with 2.5 drop spindles, no coils here. Couldn't rotate my tires even if they were all 20s, rears are much wider. I went for the muscle car type look rather than the dragging rockers look.

New picts coming.

Ok here they are... All these are at ride height, 82/83 front 49/50 rear. I have found these settings the best for the ride quality I want. Fwiw, I am running the GR2 shocks from Early Classics, which may have some effect on the ride and what air pressures work best. I already had the GR2s so I did not buy the ART shocks.

Hard to judge depth in the closeup picture, but that is about 2.5" of clearance.
