The hinge design is more than strong enough for the entire hood. I used the partial hood in the pics for my final adjustments (it was much easier to make the final tweaks this way!). Keep in mind, I have been working on these hinges for a while and have tested them extensively.

As for adjustment, there is fore-aft adjustment, but not much lateral adjustment. It is important to locate the pads on the bottom of the hood in their intended location. As for hood height, they are set-up to where the top of the hood is even with the top of the cowl. I know that not all cowl panels will be the "exact" same height so I made the hinge mounting pads to where they could easily be shimmed if needed.
