Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
I think I filled about 20 more holes this week. I can't believe how many holes there are on this thing. I also worked on finishing up the welding of the shock mounts. Passenger side is done, still need to work on drivers side.

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
Looks great. I still have to weld the underside of my shock hangers, figured I would flip the frame like you've done and make it easier to get at.

Which drop member kit are you using? It looks like a little more then the mild kit.
Thanks for sharing your build. |

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
I finished welding up the bottom of the frame, cleaned it up and hit it with a rattle can. Then I flipped it over and worked on finishing up the welds on top. I'm almost done, just a few spots to touch up. Here's a pic of the front end cleaned up and painted black. I'll have some more pictures up this weekend of the entire frame.

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
Got some more work done the last few days. Also started researching some more parts. I think I'm going to be ordering the AZProPerformance 14" big brake kit. Anybody have any experience with this kit? They say it is made by Baer as a budget upgrade compared to their other kits. http://www.azproperformance.com/67-7...o-Performance/
The front crossmember and modified body drop brackets are back on. Finished welding and grinding on the shock towers. Both are painted and shock mounting bolts installed. Got the frame stiffener painted and mounted. Also taped up the trailing arms since they are already powder coated and then got them installed. All of the painted parts will eventually be powder coated. I was just tired of dealing with rusty parts so I decided to spray paint them. |

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
I have the 14" big brake kit from AZ Pro. I'm only in the mock up stage but it looks like nice components and I haven't seen anything in the kit that made me have any concerns.
You're making good progress looks awesome. |

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
I got the rear bridge out, cleaned up and painted. Then I got the rear end installed. Unfortunately, when I was trying to center the rear end and square everything up I discovered an issue with my frame stiffener. I talked to Nate at PBFab and he is going to send me out a replacement right after the new year. Great Customer Service!

Yeah, Havasu is where I go to the most. I also try and do a yearly trip out to Lake Powell.

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
I finally got the Nova running and driving so now I'm back working on the truck. Parts are out for powder coat right now so I'll have some updates soon!
Since I lost all of my previous picture uploads I wanted to get them back on here. Below is the majority of the pics I previously posted. |

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
Everything got blown apart for powder coating. It's going to be two tone. Black for the main frame rails and Misty Black (looks like gunmetal) for all of the crossmembers and suspension parts.

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
Thanks man, I appreciate the compliment.
I picked up a solid front end from a 67 that's in really good shape. It just needs a small patch on the bottom of the passenger side fender. I bought this along with a bunch of other random parts that I ended up selling. After selling that stuff, it basically worked out to where I got this for free. |

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build
Here's some of the powder coated parts ready for install.
It will probably be a week before I get the frame rails back so I can start putting things back together. |
