BTW, I showed the POR15 can so you can see my method for opening and resealing with two screws. I never remove the lid. Works awesome.

Seems like a good idea, the only question I have is POR recommends stirring before every use, what's your innovative solution for that (asking because I know you have one )?

I've never used any POR products. I understand it's Paint Over Rust right? So, I'm wondering how well it adheres to bare metal? I know you said you scuffed it good. How durable is this stuff? I have been using rusteoleum products on my frame and it scratches pretty easy. I think it's acrylic enamel?
I assume that stuff is pretty thin too if you can pore it out of a screw hole? Keep up the pictures and great information.

My old boss (who sells POR15 on the side....he's into Studebakers) told me the same method. Seems to work good.

Started bending up brake lines (no pics just yet). Came to the conclusion that a decent double flare tool will be more than justified for this project, not to mention future use. So I have the Rigid 345-DL kit on the way.

With the brake system on the mind, I ordered an adjustable prop valve which will be mounted for cockpit accessibility.

Also ordered the POR-15 fuel tank seal kit. Since I did weld on it I figured better now than later after being stranded by a clogged fuel filter...

I think that is the most logical place for a machine like this!!!

I can't believe I am just now finding this build thread. This is one of the most impressive build I have seen. I have always thought the S2000 motor would be a good donor for any rear wheel small car. I commend you on your work. Wow.

Very clean. Where did you get the coil the goes over the brake lines like the factory use?

Thanks. I stole them from some lines on a C5 Vette chassis. But I know inline tube carries them.

Yes they do. I'd probably use it on a street rod type build. The poly-armor lines are sweet though. So easy to work with.

damn FF, how do you bend your lines so clean? what benders are you using? Also no combination valve? or is that the adjustable one you ordered? i thought they had individual lines for the left and right front wheels? i'm looking for some fittings to do a 90 on my nova. any ideas where i could get some?

now you have me thinking i want to POR15 my nova's rearend. i was just going to hit it with rustoleum but now i'm sold! POR15 it is...

I have a no name 180* bender. But for some of the bends I just did it by hand as shown in the vid.

I have an adjustable prop valve installed (will post pics). It's mounted for on-the-fly accessibility.

The S2000 MC has front and rear circuits that are split out to left and right by the ABS unit that I have deleted.

ahh that AGS i can get from checker..... i've actually used it and it bends nicely. i guess that's what i'll be using on my nova when i do the front brakes.

Yep, I jump around a bit... I had the front Xmember in for checking brake line routing:


So while it was in, there was something that needed to be completed ...the shortening the front sway bar brackets. So in maintaining the theme of modifying (nearly) every part of the this car:
We'll start with the original bracket shot-


New bolt holes raised 1"


Remove blind-nuts:


Clean-up:


Welded the nuts back on 1" higher and...
Why I felt the need to raise the bar (see right orig vs. left raised)


Side shot of modded bracket ("gusset" also clearanced) Yes the mount plate is still just tacked in...
