Re: Nik's 62 build
And a front view.
I brought my tires to the school shop the other day and got them mounted, so I'll put up a pick of those tomorrow.

Nice job on the gauge panel. That really fits the look of the dash.

The seatbelt tailgate latches are awesome, there is a guy here locally that did it on a 50's model....COOL IDEA!

Thanks Scott! Here are some pics of the tires mounted on the rims, I put the hubcap on just to get an idea of how it will look. I'm extremely happy about how good these look especially with the caps, the tires are not overly aggressive but they're still rough enough to get the job done |

Thanks John, means a lot coming from someone with your skill level

Thanks bill! Today was quite the busy day! I don't have any pictures to share at the moment but I got up early and spent some time sanding the other inner fender and got it prepared for paint and spayed the first coat of black on it and pulled out the other inner fender and put the second coat on it. I then spent the rest of the day replacing the timing belt on the family minivan, it all went smoothly. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get the the gauge pod mounted under the dash.

Re: Nik's 62 build
Temperatures dropped back down today and it started snowing unfortunately, but I still got some work done. I drilled a hole and installed a neat looking Chrome toggle switch into the gauge pod. Not entirely sure what I'll use it for yet, but I'm sure I'll find some use for it.

Re: Nik's 62 build
Mocked it up on the dash for the first time and started to make some brackets to mount it, that's as far as I got today. So far I'm really liking the way it flows with the humps in the dash

Re: Nik's 62 build
Looks good man, we got some snow to. Was hoping to get some truck time in, but I ended up having to do some work on the GMC instead and then spent the rest of the weekend with my girl. haha

Re: Nik's 62 build
I got the one inner fender polished out and installed on the truck, the drivers side one still needs a second coat.

Re: Nik's 62 build
Since I switched to power brakes I had to make some space on the firewall, I did this by removing the windshield washer reservoir. So I needed to relocate it somewhere else in the engine bay. Here is what the stock bracket that mounts to the firewall looks like.

Re: Nik's 62 build
So I bent the tabs a bit different so I could mount it on the passengers side inner fender.

Re: Nik's 62 build
The other stock location for the washer reservoir is on the drivers side of the radiator support above the horn relay.....just sayin'

Re: Nik's 62 build
Good problem solving.
Inner fender looks good, in fact, you should be very proud of your build.
